Continuing a theme I started last weekend, I decided to return to the Namadgi National Park to tackle a walk that I’ve been meaning to do for ages. Nearly 2 years ago, I went camping up at the former NASA space tracking station at Honeysuckle Creek. June 4, 2015. The best weather of the trip today. A beautiful sunny warm (almost hot) day. Went to the Wellcome Collection in the morning which is a collection of stuff about health. I heard on the radio that the Wellcome charity gives $A1.2billion a year for medical research. Biggest such charity in the world. The collection was OK but it had a very interesting special display on forensic medicine. Love the vail over the face. The Sleep of Sorrow and the Dream of Joy. Maternal Affection by Baily 1837.

One mans marathon is another mans holiday! My immediate goal for 2013 is the London Marathon on the 21st April. Given where my training is at; and generally how I am feeling – possibly a sub3:50 time. Be possible. At the worst, if I get tired/injured/hit-the-wall then I will just enjoy the jog around London and try to soak up the atmosphere of an event I am unlikely to ever have the opportunity to do again. One mans marathon is another mans holiday! May 8, 2014. Surgery day on my Achilles. The medical term for my condition is “insertional tendinosis and Haglund’s deformity”. A genetic bone growth that interferes with the Achilles’ tendon. More details can be seen here on a good surgery site. The hospital phoned a dear friend to come and collect me, which meant I had to get up and get dressed. Glad I chose to wear daggy baggy trakky daks! Now it’s on to the recovery! But first a cup of tea and a good lie down.

Our Europe Holiday
We've been dreaming of touring Europe for as long as we can remember and somehow we finally have the chance. So here we go. We've picked some of our favourite attractions across Italy, France and the United Kingdom including a quick trip through Switzerland on the way through. I guess it shouldn't be surprising how much there is to see in Europe and how hard it is to fit everything in. With thousands of years of history it is certainly a part of the world with some stories to tell. The first stop is Dubai.

Meryl and Glenn Travel Again. June 24, 2014. By Meryl and Glenn Jackson. Our last day of the holiday started at the British Museum. What an incredible variety of exhibits. Ducked into Bloomsbury Baptist Church as we walked past it and met an 80 year old lady who had been going there all her life. Strolled in Holland Park, then saw the Handel Museum and finished off with an organ recital in St Paul’s before leaving for the airport. Now we are home after a wonderful holiday.
