A side note: In 1860, 27 year old Michael Welch, also from New Brunswick, was living with George and Johanna. Ten years later he married Johanna's younger sister, Ellen Cushing. I found lots of copies of my family tree (available for free at Rootsweb.com), but with non-sensical siblings and residences and naturalization records and added wives, etc. This is a problem with any family tree, but I am surprised to see such egregious errors among the ancestry.com trees since data sources are so readily available there. Sunday, September 9, 2012. From the kitchen of: Erin Tapken (from my mother -in-law, Kris Meyer). Makes 2 large loaves. 3 1/3 c. flour. 2 tsp baking soda. 1 1/2 tsp. salt. 1 c vegetable or canola oil. 2 c pumpkin puree. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Wisk or sift flour, baking soda, salt and spices in a medium bowl, set aside. In another bowl, mix sugar, oil, eggs, water and pumpkin until smooth. Add dry ingredients a little at a time and mix well. Bake for 60 minutes until an inserted knife comes out clean.
