What's in a Name? Wednesday, July 30, 2014. The Twilight Tattoo at Fort Meyer. During the summer evenings Fort Meyer. Opens its gates to an evening of military pageantry and a memorial to the history of the Army called the Twilight Tattoo. A tattoo in this context is not skin ink but a military performance or display. Beautiful officer's homes on the base. Virginia historians must love this street corner! We loved that the houses are labeled with the officer's name. And here are those amazing views.

Pike Schemes: August 2014
http://shawnandsara.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
What's in a Name? Friday, August 29, 2014. In spite of some heavy rains, we kept to our plans to visit the state fair today, hoping that the skies would clear soon enough. With our best raingear on and umbrellas in hand, we trekked to the fairgrounds by bus and enjoyed the evening out. Alas, we saved our trip to the fair to its last weekend, meaning we won't be back until next year. See you there, at the fair! Do you see the rain? The ticket area welcomes us to the fairgrounds. Smiles amidst the rainfall.

Pike Schemes: Home Projects
http://shawnandsara.blogspot.com/2015/05/home-projects.html
What's in a Name? Thursday, October 23, 2014. We have been doing a few small projects around our new home. Here is an update on our progress. The wire shelves in the bathroom closet were covered with melamine boards. Now nothing falls through or gets snagged. The dangling drawer pulls in the butlers pantry weren't our favorite,. Especially being different than the door handles. Just a few minutes work and they all match. There was just one small towel rack in the bathroom. The wall was a dirty mess.

Pike Schemes: What's in a Name?
http://shawnandsara.blogspot.com/p/what-is-in-name-meaning-behind-pike.html
What's in a Name? What's in a Name? What is the story behind Pike Schemes. It all started with us trying to be clever, like so many other bloggers, and attempting to come up with a unique and creative name for our little piece of the blogosphere. When we coined the name, we lived on Columbia Pike in Arlington, Virginia. In Idaho there are very few, and even possibly no, streets that are pikes (turnpikes). So the term pike held some interest for us. They seem to be ever present here. But wait, you two don...

Pike Schemes: January 2015

What's in a Name? Saturday, January 24, 2015. St Paul: Crashed Ice. On our way home from a nice dinner from our friends we saw the crowds for the Crashed Ice Downhill Race. And opted to hop off the train to catch the last bit of this extreme sporting event. How many times will we ever have a chance to see a huge ice ramp attached to the front of a Ca tholic cathedral high on a hill? It's a pretty unique experience! St Paul's Cathedral, looking a little brighter than usual. The view from another angle.
