Rewinding Life Just For You

Sunday, October 7, 2012. Fourth appointment, surgeon. He didn't have a whole lot to say other than that his incision was looking good and we were cleared to remove his bandage and give him a proper bath! Quickest appointment of the day. They did however ask us if he had eaten any rocks recently. If you know Casen well at all, you know that this kid eats anything and he had in fact taken a couple chunks out of a rubber/plastic toy a couple days prior. No big deal though :). His only request before anythin...

Rewinding Life Just For You: October 2010

http://ourfamilyinrewind.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 18, 2010. Height: 34.5 in (52%). Weight: 29.1 lbs (64%). Head: 19.2 in (53%). I realize I'm a little late on getting this post up, but these are just a few things I wrote down on his birthday to remember him at this age. 8226; Bentley has supersonic ears. Seriously, the boy picks up on the most minute sounds (like a mosquito buzzing in a room full of toddlers). If you don't want Bentley to hear what you are saying then you better make sure that he is asleep. I quite literally hear this qu...

Rewinding Life Just For You: Did that just happen?

http://ourfamilyinrewind.blogspot.com/2012/09/did-that-really-just-happen.html

Thursday, September 6, 2012. Did that just happen? One cute, hungry kid waiting for his biopsy. So remember how Casen was diagnosed with a kidney disease called Nephrotic Syndrome in July? Wrong Despite his tummy hurting him, Casen still wanted to try and eat some mac and cheese, but with every bite he complained even more. He ate a small bowl and showed no interest in eating anything else. After consistently complaining about his stomach and begging to go home he finally crashed and fell asleep. My poor...

Rewinding Life Just For You: Christmas Day

http://ourfamilyinrewind.blogspot.com/2010/12/christmas-day.html

Monday, December 27, 2010. If you will remember, Bentley only asked Santa for one thing this year. A pink present.maybe a book. So when we woke him up on Christmas morning he was thrilled to see a pink present waiting for him under the tree in his room! The boys modeling the hats that Aunt Kristin made for them. Casen slept through all of the gift opening, so here he is later with his presents. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Casen @ One Month. Simple template. Powered by Blogger.

Rewinding Life Just For You: First Steps

http://ourfamilyinrewind.blogspot.com/2012/09/first-steps.html

Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Anyway, a quick update on Casen since it is late and sleep is hard to come by in this place! Yesterday and today have been really good days for Casen! His mobility has been pretty limited until today because of his pain and even more so because of his catheter, but we spent a lot of time yesterday building train tracks, racing cars, coloring, and doing puzzles in his bed. I am so glad hes feeling better! Best news Ive heard all day! We are all praying our hearts out over here!

me and my mccready's: The Big Ice

http://3mccreadys.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-big-ice.html

Me and my mccready's. Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Clint jumped out of bed to see for himself and then we went to tell the kids to take a look. We got the kids layered up and headed outside to check it out. The first thing they wanted to do was throw snowballs but the snow was super powdery - more sleet than snow, really - so they just threw snow at each other instead. Lydia stayed out of it. We carefully walked down the steps to play in the backyard. My kids' first snow angels! Because everything is unde...

me and my mccready's: Let's Go Fly a Kite

http://3mccreadys.blogspot.com/2015/04/lets-go-fly-kite.html

Me and my mccready's. Friday, April 10, 2015. Let's Go Fly a Kite. On Wednesday Lydia and I bought a kite. One of the best purchases I ever made. We took "Buzz Buzz" (Lizzy named him after the bee from the old Disney classic cartoons with Donald Duck) to the soccer field up at the top of a hill near our home. It was pretty much the best kite flying experience of our lives! The sky was beautiful and the wind was fierce. We had that kite dancing all over the place! http://3mccreadys.blogspot.com/2015/02/this-is-how-we-christmas-at-grandmom.html

Me and my mccready's. Sunday, February 15, 2015. This is how we Christmas at Grandmom and Grandad's. We read Little Golden Books in pj's and cowboy hats. Lots and lots of Legos. In just about every room of the house. Until every single Harry Potter Lego set is put together! We visit Sea World. We wait in line for an hour and a half to go sledding for 5 minutes. We pay $25 for a picture in a snow globe. We find Sesame Street friends! Then we have the kids wait at the top of the stairs on Christmas morning.

Vivid Dreams | Our Family's Experiences Volunteering in India

Our Family's Experiences Volunteering in India. Vivid Dreams: a Valediction. April 11, 2015. The humanist Albert Einstein blames this tendency to perceive distinctions between me and mine and you and yours on “an optical delusion” of our consciousness. He goes on to say:. Jesus taught a similar approach, reminding his followers they should “love thy neighbor as thyself.” Not surprisingly, the urge to draw boundary lines was irresistible. “Who is our neighbor? 8221; they asked. With me it does not come ea...

Our Family in Iowa

Our Family in Iowa. Raising our family in the beautiful state of Iowa since 2006. Raising them in Minnesota since 2014. Thursday, October 27, 2016. New Roots in Minnesota. It has been over 2 years since I last wrote. Several times I tried to return to writing. I would write a lengthy entry only to delete it all. Something kept holding me back. I tried to so hard to stay positive about our big change. In some sense I was uprooted. At this point I told myself maybe I was putting too much of myself into my ...

Our Family in Japan

Our Family in Japan. Saturday, December 20, 2014. Happy 4th birthday to our funny man, Leo! Leo loves music and has shown some interest in playing the guitar like Dad. Our first event for his birthday was a trip to the ginza to pick out his very own guitar. He had about ten guitars to choose from and ended up going with the bright orange and black one - the giants fan in the family was pleased :). We came back home and had Leo's special request for dinner - rainbow pancakes. Happy birthday, Leo! We celeb...

Our Family in Oz | Petit-jeans in Australia

Our Family in Oz. We had a place to live at last and had our familiar creature-comforts in there. At last we were settled or almost anyway. I wanted to join the Police, I’d applied very shortly after we’d got here, and had done the fitness test. But the process is long and slow, and there was no guarantee that I’d get in anyway. I’d ran out of time, and had to revert to a software job, and HAD to get it as fast as was possible. I took the offer, I had no other choice, and I started work a week later.
