Vacations and Free time……… →. Moonlighting……………. February 16, 2012. When we got married I was in the Army National Guard, committed to serve until ’69. I always just considered it a part time job and god knows we needed the little bit of extra income. I always thought moonlighting should not only provide a little extra money but also should be kind of fun; the guard thing had long ago ceased to be fun. When the enlistment was up I said good-bye. So, in a span of 3 weeks, way back in the middle of August, we decided to move to Grinnell, then packed up our house and set sail (well, more like the cruise control) for Iowa! Here is my favorite family photo of 2012. We are in the garage, in the middle of one of the craziest times in our lives, and we are still having fun! We spent many weeks up at the cabin, a week at a family reunion in WI, and swam, swam, swam! Then, we packed up the house, had a garage sale (we made over $1,000! Our new blue house!
