O. K. M.: Up and down and back again.
http://owenkeithmarshall.blogspot.com/2010/10/up-and-down-and-bacj.html
A boy and his family. Friday, October 1, 2010. Up and down and back again. Owen has severe sleep apnea. No surprise there. Thankfully, three months ago, in my sleep deprived state, with the support of my sleep deprived husband and in the company of my sleep deprived eldest son, I requested that this recent sleep study be performed. Because, I kept saying to all of the specialists, "NO ONE IS SLEEPING! And word from the orthopedic surgeon. No growing rods. . Kelsey and I were both shocked. Elated....Oh th...
O. K. M.: October 2010
http://owenkeithmarshall.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
A boy and his family. Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Elliot and I just returned late Monday night from a lovely, fun-farm-zoo-aquarium-football-sister-Auntie-filled week. I miss my sister. A lot. She loves to laugh. Loves to be silly. She's whimsical. She's also kind, compassionate and has a big heart that is just oozing with love for her family. Dad was happy to have him return home and they have resumed their father-son breakfasting. Why do they call it "Kepprage? And I thought another comment left one o...

A boy and his family. Monday, October 5, 2009. Where oh where have we been? So I have another post that I've been working on the last several days that relates to Infantile Spasms Awareness Week. Which is October 11th through the 17th. But I just had to jump in and do a quick post today while the boys are sleeping. We've been busy the last six weeks, which have included:. 1 Owen going on Topamax. 2 Owen going off Topamax two weeks later. 3 Owen starting a wean off of Vigabatrin. 13 Writing a letter to a ...

O. K. M.: What is this?
http://owenkeithmarshall.blogspot.com/2014/03/what-is-this.html
A boy and his family. Sunday, March 16, 2014. It has been five months since Owen's passing. I look back on this blog with such complex emotions; Sadness, heartbreak, joy, intense longing, and celebration of all we were able to accomplish together, despite the odds. Our journey was so profoundly beautiful and I struggle regularly with the fact that we had grown comfortably into. And so I continue to walk. To remember. Celebrate. Grieve. Live. And to discover who I am now. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Cerebral Palsy Baby: February 2012
http://cerebralpalsybaby.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 10, 2012. Yesterday, we trekked down to Portland with Darsie for her second visit with the fantastic staff at Shriners Hospital, Portland. After a short break, we went and saw a speech therapist for an eval. No speech therapy recommend! So, that was awesome. She gave us some things to work on, but she was very impressed with Darsie. Now we wait for the professionals to look at the huge amounts of data and information that was collected and meet to form an action plan for D. I live near Se...

POST-pulmonary thromboendarterectomy: no words to describe
http://pte4me.blogspot.com/2009/06/no-words-to-describe.html
Sunday, June 28, 2009. No words to describe. Every once in a while I come across something that I want to share with you and I am at a loss for what to say about it. There is a short film at the festival that is called THE BLINDNESS OF THE WOODS. It is not long, as a "short" suggests, and you can view it here. It is not child appropriate (O is not sure who it is appropriate for), the biggest issue being that I think it would raise countless unanswerable questions. I know it does for me. Well, hi there.

Cerebral Palsy Baby: May 2012
http://cerebralpalsybaby.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 09, 2012. On Monday, we headed to Shriner's in Portland again for Darsie's cast to get taken off. The cast came off with no problem but there was a "button" on the bottom of her foot that had to be removed that held the sutures from holding the tendon in the correct place (I think! She was not a happy camper during that. Back downstairs to see her Orthopedist who thought her foot looked FANTASTIC. And I have to agree. She is walking heel to toe now, although very slow. Other Blogs I Read.

Owen Keeps Up With The Kardashians
Owen Keeps Up With The Kardashians. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Season 1 Episode 8:The Price of Fame. This episode is about the pros and cons of being famous. Obviously being famous has its upsides, because, as Kim mentions,"Being in the public eye is really cool.". However being famous makes bad stuff happen too. What bad stuff you ask? Additionally, they think she is a slut and a whore. But I digress, damnit Owen! Anyways, to clear up the fact that Kim is (not? Naturally the FBI comes in to investigate...

June 21, 2017. After last year's successful Presidential Traverse. We headed up from Massachusetts on Friday night in separate cars. It rained the whole ride up and the Higher Summits Forecast. For Saturday was calling for summits in the clouds with a chance of showers and drizzle throughout the day. Typical! Asked one guy as he was walking by - "We are" I said. "We'll see you in the morning then! We grabbed our packs, put on our headlamps, snapped a couple pictures, and headed off up Valley Way. He said...

Post, I described how we managed to get in a 52 With A View peak during our recent trip to AL and UP’s condo in the White Mountains. However, what I didn’t mention in that post is that during that same trip, and on the very next day after hiking Mount Avalon, we bagged another peak! Published on October 15, 2014.
