Lowercase profanity: Sufjan Stevens, you goddamn thief
http://lowercaseprofanity.blogspot.com/2011/07/sufjan-stevens-you-goddamn-thief.html
A sweary—and expertly punctuated—weblog. Monday, July 11, 2011. Sufjan Stevens, you goddamn thief. Here is "Svefn-G-Englar", from Sigur Rós's 1999 album Ágætis byrjun. And here's "Vito's Ordination Song", from Sufjan Steven's 2003 album Greetings from Michigan. It's even in the same key. Sufjan apologists, I dare you to argue that he didn't lift the chord progression, instrumentation, and feel for his song from his Icelandic superiors. I wonder if Sigur Ros realizes. I still love Sufjan though!

The talk was recorded, and the live version is available here. I’d like to begin with two disclaimers. The turning point came in October 2010. We were sitting in our livin...

Lowercase profanity: December 2010
http://lowercaseprofanity.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
A sweary—and expertly punctuated—weblog. Tuesday, December 21, 2010. Here is one of my very favorite Christmas arrangements. Take a listen! Also: the color changes throughout the video. That is neat! Sunday, December 12, 2010. I have almost no memory of a belief in Santa Claus. I'm sure my Santa skepticism was facilitated by the fact that my parents didn't try artificially to keep us believing. (Thanks, Mom and Dad! One year ago, I left the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You'll notice that ...

Lowercase profanity: September 2010
http://lowercaseprofanity.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
A sweary—and expertly punctuated—weblog. Tuesday, September 21, 2010. I found this quote on Facebook today:. Intelligence is the ability to hear someone's opinion and not be swayed by it. Here is a tip for you, O anonymous peddler of Facebook quotations. When you argue, you can nearly always find common ground with your opponent, a reasonable component of his argument that causes you to adjust — ever so slightly — your thinking. When this proves infeasible, there are two possibilities...I feel guilty hav...

NEVER STOP SMILING: April 2006
http://ehiman.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
A wanderer looking for his way and a place to stay. Tuesday, April 11, 2006. Posted by Simone @ 12:27 AM.
