Homebrew 144 MHz transceiver. Homebrew of a 144 MHz FM transceiver using PLL synthesizer. Tuesday, May 25, 2010. The pll produces a signal between 133.3 and 135.3 MHz.This signal had some spurious 2MHz away from the carrier. I found out that it was caused by a 132.3 MHz signal. This signal leaked to the vco via the power lines. I fixed this. Now I don't see any spurious around the carrier.So it is attenuated at least 60 db. 1323 MHz is used to downmix the vco signal from 133.3-135.3 to 1-3 MHz.

Homebrew 144 MHz transceiver. Homebrew of a 144 MHz FM transceiver using PLL synthesizer. Wednesday, May 19, 2010. My new spectrum analyzer shows the same spurious signal levels the PRC-100 does. So they are real. I got rid of one of the strong spurious signals. It was caused by oscillation. A different problem is the PSU. The transformer can not deliver the current needed for 5 watt output. Building/programming one myself should not be a problem, it just takes some time. I want continue with other projects so I took a shortcut. It consists of the folowing parts:. LO: sdr kits si570 vfo. Switchable bandpass filter: comes from russian ham parts. Power supply: Transformer taken from cb power supply. The Mixer is a sbl-1. PA3EMY Ham radio activities. Saturday, March 1, 2014. CHN 80-20 tranceiver continued. I fixed the problem with the RIT. It was wired incorrectly. The TX/Rx leds now work for both 80 and 20 meter. These too were wired incorrectly. Somehow I made shortcircuit somewhere. This blew a BD137 power transistor. Fortunately I had a few more in the junk box. By PA0CHN It covers 2 bands, 20 meter and 80 meters. ssb/cw 10W output. IF is 9 MHz.'. It iused to be popular here in the netherlands. This unit was not in a good state. It needs a lot of work. An old pentium PC was available for the coding and decoding. The transceiver I use is an old ICOM IC-730. I also have an IC-817 this one works ok but the IC-730 has a better receiver. PA3EMY Ham radio activities. Sunday, March 6, 2011. Capacitors still cause problems. I made series circuit using 3 capacitors. Then I used 3 of those circuits parallel. Unfortunately they still get too hot . So I switched to 400 Volt mks capacitors. Those too get too hot. I found out on a forum that I need polypropylene types. Next week I will try to buy them. In 1976 I changed my position and became a civil radio-operator, but still served the Navy. In 1983, when I was stationed at Curaçao (Netherlands Antilles), I received my Full Ham-license with the call PJ2RV. Soon after I returned to The Netherlands, so that call was never used. Welkom op de site van Jan, PA3EGH. In het begin ben ik veel actief geweest op 23 en 70 cm band. Ik heb daar erg veel DX gewerkt, dat betekend dus dat er verbindingen gemaakt zijn met alle landen in Europa. Ook heb ik in die periode veel verbindingen gemaakt via Oscar 10, satelliet communicatie. Na het behalen van het Morse examen. Was de toegang tot de HF banden (kortegolf) mogelijk. Via deze frequenties is het dagelijks mogelijk om verbindingen te maken met amateurs waar dan ook ter wereld.

CB to Ham transverter

CB to Ham transverter. Attempt to design and build a multiband transverter to CB. Vrijdag 22 mei 2015. After some refinements The transvertor is usable. However I am not satisfied with its performance. So I will need to make more adaptions. At some bands edges the harmonic suppression is not good enough. Homebrew spectrum analyzer

Construction of spectrum analyzer using UDT-401 tuner. Dinsdag 8 juni 2010. Strong harmonics are created internally when the signal level is high. Signals must be attenuated 20 db. This reduces dynamic range to 50 db. So, although dynamic range is 70db , only 50 db is available for measuring harmonics. I am adding dipswitches to the processor board.
