Bird observations and notes on natural history from the eastern Palouse region of north-central Idaho and eastern Washington. Friday, December 30, 2011. Triumph Rosy-Finches and redpolls, 12/29/11. Were over in Hailey for the week and stopped by Triumph Thursday AM ( 5 miles up the East Fork Rd. between Hailey and Ketchum). There was a nice mixed flock of Gray-crowned. And others here as well. Would have spent more time in the area but we were on our way up Galena Lodge to play in the snow. Simple templa...

Click here for the latest updates! Friday, February 23, 2007. Pullman's Pull (Special Guest Post - Part I). They see beauty here- it is their home. Few people I have met raised in Whatcom County can wrap their brains around someone’s wanting to visit let alone live in where I am ultimately headed. I can’t explain it to them. Could these trailer-dwelling laborers make me see the love they have for their own simple existence? Would they give it up if they could? Would it give them up? The Palouse in Film.
