Internet Vet. - The Owls Approve
http://www.theowlsapprove.com/2015/08/internet-vet.html
While I still cringe every time I see some stupid what-do-I-do post on OTTB Connect, I still want as much knowledge as possible. Fortunately, the best response for those people is the same response I've given myself and my vet is due out Friday. Until then, though, I've been joyfully googling myself into a tizzy. Because my raison d'etre lately seems to be insanity. And I'm worried that Archie has developed either Recurrent Airway Obstruction. Or Summer Pasture-Associated Recurrent Airway Obstruction.

Hopeful Jumpers: May 2015

May 28, 2015. Hero and I had a lesson with the new trainer today (our original Trainer A is having some serious health issues so I'm not sure when he will be back to teaching, sad Jess). That is part of what I love most about Hero. once you teach him something he's quite happy to go with it. Breaking up text with cute photo). Finally we started working on Hero's first bounce. We started off with the second jump being a pole, then up to a cross rail, then a vertical. I expected Hero to not do the ...My tr...

Hopeful Jumpers: Hanging Out With The Boys
http://jessandprinceofthieves.blogspot.com/2015/08/hanging-out-with-boys.html
August 4, 2015. Hanging Out With The Boys. Well the rains have continued (yesterday broke a 42 year record for the amount of rain we got and the flooding in some areas was leading to emergency evacuations) and as such, the riding has not been happening. Hero has gotten his shoe put back on, but everything is just too muddy and wet to do much more than walk. I've really been wishing we had some sort of covered arena lately! This weekend all I did was groom the boys and take them out for some hand grazing.

August 2014 - The Owls Approve

Today will be our sixth ride back. While I've said that he doesn't seem to have lost a lot of fitness, I'm also still trying to take it slowly. I'm not so good at that. My goal was to gradually increase the workload until our ride time and distance were approximately the same as it had been before he had a three week vacation. And once we reached that, we'd start jumping again. I miss jumping. Even our baby cross rails and verticals. Miss. Obligatory stellar-quality video stills:. Not 100%, but I think a...

When I opened my May and June Horse Boxes. And found shampoo-filled sponges from Mrs. Conn’s Bath Day. I squealed like a small child. I’d seen the sponges on various equestrian social media channels and couldn’t wait to try them, mostly because they’re so freaking cute. Want your horse to smell like a Lisa Frank picture, you’re safe. June ...

TBT: A Horse Named Tiki – Back In The Tack
https://backinthetack.wordpress.com/2015/04/23/tbt-a-horse-named-tiki
Back In The Tack. TBT: A Horse Named Tiki. April 23, 2015. Around 2006, I was boarding my first horse, Morkie, at a barn in middle Tennessee. The barn owned bought several horses from a kill auction that summer and I fell in love with a gelding whose name had been Garfield. He was unbearably skinny and unbearably sweet. I was in love and I called him Tiki. The day I met him. Tiki a couple years down the line. Of unknown breeding, Tiki wasn’t much to look at but I was as proud of him as any young te...

Elvis does Dressage! | tullavilla

Just a girl and her horses! Haynet – Equine Social Blogging Network. On Sunday I took Elvis to his first show, which happened to be a Dressage show. It was his first time to do Dressage so we entered in the Intro class. My main aim was to keep him inside the arena as I find him quite awkward to turn compared to Tizzy and Stuart who are much smaller and more compact. On February 11, 2014.
