pandabase: Wait in the dark
http://pandabase.blogspot.com/2011/08/wait-in-dark.html
Wait in the dark. Here is another urban pigeon, this time in his autumn scarf. He's done using watercolours, gouache, and India ink. Title is borrowed from a song by Memory Tapes, sublime New Order inflected New Jersey loveliness. There's no reference to pigeons though, it's just what's playing. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). pandabase: What fish?
http://pandabase.blogspot.com/2012/02/what-fish.html
Here is a little sneak preview of some illustrations I've made for an upcoming presentation at the Annual Meeting of the Association of American Geographers in New York. I'll be talking about geographies of street art and exploring the public creation of street art in Montréal. I can easily imagine each image introducing a section of your presentation. Wish I could see it in person. 21 February, 2012. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
pandabase: Do something pretty while you can
http://pandabase.blogspot.com/2011/11/do-something-pretty-while-you-can.html
Do something pretty while you can. A quick little bird illustration since I have not done an update in far too long. It was done on watercolour paper using watercolour paints and India ink. I've been ruminating a lot on aesthetics lately and for the moment, I am illustrating with the philosophy of "do something pretty while you can". In mind. Thanks of course to Belle and Sebastian for the quote. What a flavorful bird (and quote)! 11 November, 2011. Thank you so much! 12 November, 2011.
pandabase: What's good for the goose
http://pandabase.blogspot.com/2011/12/whats-good-for-goose.html
What's good for the goose. This is for a paper I'm currently working on, examining sustainability implications of textile graffiti like yarn bombing. It touches on a lot of issues from gentrification to gender issues. My feminisita goose was made using water colours, gouache, and India ink. I left the spirals from my watercolour notebook in the scanned image for a little something different. And now back to work . Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

pandageo: Tourist walks in Montréal
http://pandageo.blogspot.com/2010/08/tourist-walks-in-montreal.html
Photography and experiments in psychogeography by Emma Arnold. Friday, August 27, 2010. Tourist walks in Montréal. I strongly recommend being a tourist in your own city once in a while (best done when you have visitors). It can be a nice affirmation of why you chose to live there in the first place. Here are a few shots taken in Old Montréal and Plateau/Mile End, using a small point and shoot camera. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Photography and experiments in psychogeography by Emma Arnold. Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Foggy in the Vieux-Port and Old Montréal. A foggy autumn evening, the perfect time for (what may be) the last long bixi. Of the season and some grainy grey photography. Here are a few gloomy shots from a bike ride along the Lachine Canal to the Vieux-Port and Old Montréal. These were taken with a small point and shoot camera. April 2, 2014 at 2:35 AM. That was a nice day. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Photography and experiments in psychogeography by Emma Arnold. Monday, November 15, 2010. The High Line, New York City. Here are a few shots from The High Line in New York, from a brisk December afternoon last year. This is one of my favourite public spaces, a wonderful example of urban planning done right. Bear and his world. A little illustration I did over coffee this morning. Thinking of doing a canvas with the same composition. Symbiosis of the badger and the crab. My first painting completed in Oslo, one month after arriving in Norway. Love, pigeons, and alternating current. Nikola Tesla was apparently celibate, afraid of round things, and in love with a pigeon. This dog also loves pigeons. Unlike Tesla, he kills them. Herringbone herring and other sketches. I've been attacked by various household app...
