A gift to Max Ernst in the form of three herring and a salmon. I have fallen in love with this illustration by Max Ernst. It lives at MoMa. You can watch a little video about it here. Of course, I love the art/science connection with the allusions to microscopic images and the mix of biology and technology. But, I also love the palette and media, the lovely expanse of flat black opaque gouache and ink on paper. Love! 05 August, 2011. Thank you so much! Im hoping to do some more in the same style. :).

A version of a bear, with a flag. This is my newest bear, and I'm thinking maybe the beginning of a new series of 100 revolutionary bears. This is not actually the finished version as I worked on it a bit more after taking this photograph. I'm also looking forward to presenting some of my work at a very interesting conference on public space, the arts, and sustainability. What's good for the goose. This is for a paper I'm currently working on, examining sustainability implications of textile graffiti like yarn bombing. It touches on a lot of issues from gentrification to gender issues. My feminisita goose was made using water colours, gouache, and India ink. Do something pretty while you can. A quick little bird illustration since I have not done an update in far too long. It was done on watercolour paper using watercolour paints and India ink. I've been ruminating a lot on aesthetics lately and for the moment, I am illustrating with the philosophy of "do something pretty while you can". In mind.
