Life in words: I don't want to forget. After the storm, a rainbow appeared. We have our rainbow baby. Last year, I stood on that precipice and I allowed myself a fighting chance. I promised myself that I would try. It was a risk, but one I had to take for the sake of our family. We can’t explain why this time worked; it’s inexplicable. I knew what it took for my head, my heart and my being to try and recover from loss each time. Why would this time be any different? Was my body setting me up to fail?

Life in words: I don't want to forget. No, not ‘everything happens for a reason’. That’s what well meaning people say when they don’t know what to say. I mean, what do you say to someone who has had a miscarriage? People cannot truly empathise with this unless they have been through it. And I have been through it three times. I can hardly believe the number myself. One, two, three. It is something a mother remembers and is imprinted on her for life. And now I am one of those women I sympathised with.
