A View from the Green Barn: April 2009
http://aviewfromthegreenbarn.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 19, 2009. Let's Get This Garden Growing! I planted tomatoes, lettuce, pole beans, pumpkins and loads of coleus, ranunculus and sunflowers. I am going to get some other things started in the next week and move things in and out of some cold frames I have in my brain. I did a little research. I am looking forward to (my) still-warm-from-the sun, garden-fresh, sliced tomatoes with hot, buttered sweet corn. I might toss in a Wisconsin bratwurst to make it a complete summerfest. A Rose is a Rose.

My observations as I travel from day to day through life and around the world. Wednesday, June 24, 2009. A something in a summer’s Day. As slow her flambeaux burn away. A something in a summer’s noon. A depth an Azure a perfume. And still within a summer’s night. A something so transporting bright. I clap my hands to see. Then veil my too inspecting face. Lets such a subtle. Flutter too far for me. The wizard fingers never rest. The purple brook within the breast. Still chafes it narrow bed. Thursday, Ju...

My observations as I travel from day to day through life and around the world. Thursday, September 24, 2009. Living in a wooded area on the side of a hill sometimes can be challenging with the deer eating the vegetation I want to keep. You can read about their latest doings in the blogpost on Sept 2oth. But the pleasure of living among the wildife far out weighs the damage they do. Here are some pictures taken in the past year. One of the deer in the herd of eight that usually pass through. All is not lo...

My observations as I travel from day to day through life and around the world. Thursday, May 13, 2010. Trip to Egypt Segment Three. Leaving the Temple to catch the open ride back to the welcoming building we had to go through one of the many markets we saw during our time in Egypt. The vendors were very aggressive, so it helped to be able to say no thank you in Arabic. It gave us a good time to practice our bartering to get some great bargains. Egypt Trip Segment One. Egypt Trip Segment Two. Places I Hav...

My observations as I travel from day to day through life and around the world. Tuesday, July 2, 2013. Hosta Still Going to Bloom. While I was away in Virginia the deer decided to make a feast out of the beautiful large hostas that are growing at the corner of my house. What a disappointment it is to see that site when I drive up to the front of the house. But, this week the hostas are budding to bring forth flowers. The missing leaves are still unsightly, but the flowers will bring forth some joy. All ph...
