We took some photos the same day of the kids with my sister, Auntie Arwen – Oliver wanted a photo of them to go in his picture frame. Which he made at school. This is Tinside Lido. 8211; an Art Deco outdoor, sea water swimming pool – one of my favourite things about living in Plymouth. It is situated right on the seafront, near the Plymouth Hoe. We threw a Wonka Chocolate Factory themed party for Oliver’s 8th and Cyan’s 6th birthdays. With our wedding in October to plan, I decided we would have one joint party and hold it a little early at the end of July (their birthdays are a couple of weeks apart in August/September). Oliver and Cyan’s school held a party to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, with a hat competition for each year group. We decided to make crowns. Oliver’s crown is based on the St. Edwards Crown. Worn by the Queen at her coronation. Cyan’s is a mini replica of the Imperial State Crown. Worn by the Queen for important state events. We always make our own Christmas cards. this year we continued the tradition we started last year of using drawings by Oliver and Cyan. They drew their seasonal characters which I scanned and made up into cards. Cyan drew Santa. a snowman. and two Christmas trees, one with legs? We just celebrated our first wedding anniversary last month, which has prompted me to post here about our wedding. I designed our invitations myself, our names and the date were handwritten by my dad. They were beautifully printed onto thin sheets of real birch wood by wood chick studios.
