It provides the need for visual learners but is much more attention-getting than a simple blackboard or overhead projector. What I really liked was the ability for the students to actually help in the creation process. You teach a concept, then have students create an activity using IWB. I think being able to use an interactive whiteboard is a necessary tool for teachers since many classrooms have one. I like how the SmartBoard software has some templates for teachers to use. Wednesday, December 16, 2009. I have learned so many things in EDU. 610 that will make me a more effective teacher. I have learned all about the Net Gens and how technology is just part of who they really are. I believe today's students expect some use of technology in their classrooms, but I also think they want the student to student and teacher to student interaction. Monday, November 30, 2009. During our last class it was interesting to see different students' presentations. Throughout the presentations I noticed two things: 1) Teachers do not know enough technology and 2) increasing communication between teachers and students via e-mail and text. Toward the beginning, it talked about the fact that we like to classify the net generation and think they ALL have access to technology or sometimes access to the same type of technology.
