Wednesday, December 16, 2009. I have learned so many things in EDU. 610 that will make me a more effective teacher. I have learned all about the Net Gens and how technology is just part of who they really are. I believe today's students expect some use of technology in their classrooms, but I also think they want the student to student and teacher to student interaction. Monday, November 30, 2009. During our last class it was interesting to see different students' presentations. Throughout the presentations I noticed two things: 1) Teachers do not know enough technology and 2) increasing communication between teachers and students via e-mail and text. Toward the beginning, it talked about the fact that we like to classify the net generation and think they ALL have access to technology or sometimes access to the same type of technology. I'll tell you the big problem in my classroom whether rich or poor - Ipods! I can facilitate a style of learning that engages my students and keeps them active and hands-on. Wednesday, November 18, 2009. I really enjoyed playing around with the interactive white boards. Using the software for only a few minutes gave me a glimpse of how useful they can be in my classroom. I discovered the hot spots feautre which i can see myself using all the time in my social studies classes. I also think i will use the overlay feature with maps to teach geography.
