My parents owned an antique shop and were avid antique collectors themselves so I grew up surrounded by lots of beautiful and interesting treasures. I loved the toy cupboard which was filled with old teddy bears and soft toy animals in amongst these was a tiny miniature Schuco teddy bear made in the 1930s. I was fascinated by its size and charm and it was this little chap that inspired me to begin making miniature teddy bears. Friday, 7 August 2015. Mitzi our latest centre seam teddy bear from our studio. Mitzi is 9" high created from vintage plush which i have airbrushed and tinted. She has a centre seam head and silk thread nose which is worn in places. Loose jointed with wobble neck and stuffed like old bears with wood wool shavings. Wednesday, 20 June 2012. Inspiration from Antique Farnell 1908. Last summer on our holidays we stopped for lunch on our travels to Cornwall at vintage and antiques market and were lucky enough to find a beautiful 1908 Farnell Teddy Bear.We thought at first we had struck gold with a antique steiff bear but we were equally delighted to find that this stunning bears true identity was in fact a British Bear. He is still in need of a little restoration and when time permits I am going to tidy him up a bit.

My trips around the world. I landed in Madagascar’s capital, Antananarivo, at about 11pm. Fortunately the hotel was a short drive from the airport, and I was soon united with my friend and travelling companion Andrew and could get some rest after my long flight via Paris. He wears a vintage embroidered hand dyed waistcoat with tiny brass buttons. Grey silk pantaloons with vintage velvet slippers with brass buckles. Carries a posy of vintage for-get-me-nots. ONE OFF Limited Edition 1/1 ADOPTED. Miss Fleure is 4.5" high and created from pale blonde mohair. ONE OFF 1/1 ADOPTED.

From the stunning migration around Ndutu, in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, to the elusive Takahe in the wilds of New Zealand.
