Payne's Paddle Fish: Peer Pressure Kayak Purchases
http://www.paynespaddlefish.com/2014/11/peer-pressure-kayak-purchases.html
Peer Pressure Kayak Purchases. Take a deep breath. Count down from 10. I'm going to save you some possible headache if you'll take 5 minutes and read this. I hope you take this advice to heart because I sure didn't. I've bone headed this scenario twice and finally learned my lesson. I'll try to save you the same trouble. Here is how it starts:. You think while you try to figure out when the next lump sum of cash is coming in. Tax return? Is too vague. What do you want to do in the kayak? That would have ...
Payne's Paddle Fish: Should Trolling Motors Be Allowed in Kayak Tourneys?
http://www.paynespaddlefish.com/2014/09/should-trolling-motors-be-allowed-in.html
Should Trolling Motors Be Allowed in Kayak Tourneys? ICAST and Outdoor Retailer showed us what the kayak industry is moving to: motorized kayaks. At least that's what it feels like. So how long will it be until they are allowed to fish along side human powered kayaks in tournaments? Should trolling motors be allowed? The people for inclusion claim this would allow seniors and people with disabilities to participate which could continue the growth of the sport. With more models of electric motor kayak...
Payne's Paddle Fish: Be Safe in the Cold
http://www.paynespaddlefish.com/2014/10/be-safe-in-cold.html
Be Safe in the Cold. Fall is descending on most of the nation and even a hint of winter is showing up for a few of our folks up north. My friends in Europe have been experiencing snow for almost three weeks now. As it gets colder, carelessness with safety gets more costly than it already is. Please be safe. Have a float plan. Wear layers. Wear a life jacket. Here is a video explaining why that life jacket is so important. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 10 Rules for Kayak Fishing. I Want A Kayak!
Payne's Paddle Fish: 10 Rules for Kayak Fishing
http://www.paynespaddlefish.com/2013/11/10-rules-for-kayak-fishing.html
10 Rules for Kayak Fishing. My thoughts on 10 Rules that would help make kayak fishing better. This isn't an end all be all list but some things that if we kept in mind, could help grow our sport. 1 Learn to Paddle a Kayak- Sometimes staying on a spot is very important and nature will try to push you off of it. Whether it be current, wind or passersby, learning to maneuver your kayak well will add time fishing and reduce frustration. 6 Even the Entry Level Boats are Cool- Show some excitement when someon...
Payne's Paddle Fish: Why High End Sunglasses are Worth It
http://www.paynespaddlefish.com/2014/10/why-high-end-sunglasses-are-worth-it.html
Why High End Sunglasses are Worth It. For the last decade I’ve been on the search for good fishing sunglasses. They needed to be polarized, help me see fish in shallow or clear water better and not be fatiguing to wear for more than a few hours. I bought most of the brands that you know and some you might not. In total I tried 12 brands in 10 years. I started fairly cheap ($40) and worked my way up as brand after brand disappointed. In the spectrum of color that the human eye sees, all of those colors ar...

Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Guest Post: Chris Payne on Kayak Fishing as a Family Affair. I asked Chris to write a piece about sharing our passion with the family. This is a close personal subject to me and I want to thank him for taking this time and opportunity to write this. You can check out his ever growing kayak fishing blog at Paynespaddlefish.com. Payne's Paddle Fish
Not all kayakers use boat ramps to launch but if you do there are unspoken rules you should know about. Unfortunately many who have never fished out of power boats may not have ever been introduced to boat ramp etiquette. Today, I’ll try to remedy that. Public boat ramps can give you access where it is otherwise sparse. When this is the case, chances are you will eventually see other people. Help everyone avoid ramp rage and follow these simple rules. Prepare Before You Back. Don’t Be a Ramp Hog. It hasn...

I use my blog to keep folks up to date on family (when Facebook has limitations) and to express more of my own thoughts or to give more detail of my own thoughts. It's my blog, my perspective. That is all I got for now.But beware, I have more to say on several other topics! I would...
