I was going to write a pathetic pitiful poor me post today about how disgusted I am with myself, how my knees hurt when I run, how I’m always out of breath, blah blah blah. I didn’t know how to start so I went downstairs and made a big fat waffle with butter and log cabin syrup (I’m on sick-child duty today- waffles were her idea, darnit). Great idea. No inspiration in the waffle. And I’m excited! I look forward to it!

Basically we go up and over a pass every day, then try to get as close to the next one as possible for the following day. Muir Hut on top of Muir Pass. There was about 8 of us that spent the night inside. It was probably the warmest night we've had in the Sierras even at 12,000 feet. Typical scene after crossing a river, drying out and eating food.

When I'm on the trail the thing I crave the most is fresh fruit, so it was such a wonderful treat to find these. Uhm Yeah we get pretty dirty out there. Getting into town and taking a shower is always the greatest thing. I feel amazing afterward when I'm not dirty, sticky and smelly! Party at the border.
