What does med-evac in Washington DC entail? Once I am more settled and less flustered, I will hopefully start working on my manual. How do I feel about the process thus far? Friday, October 7, 2011. The difference a year makes. The teachers at my kinder once again threw a birthday celebration in my honor, just as they did last...

In a gentle way you can shake the world. Gandhi. Lisa's Aventura Hondureña en el Cuerpo de Paz. Monday, January 31, 2011. 7 months in Honduras! Last week I went to visit Erica. In her pueblito of 300 people, up on a mountain in Comayagua! It was really good to see her, though, and to get a taste of life out in the campo. And now, I’m just getting back from Reconnect. It was absolutely wonderful to see the other YD volunteers though… we are such a diverse group, but they are my family. Here, and I couldn&...

Howdy from Honduras: Days Like Yesterday...
http://robertsx2.blogspot.com/2011/11/days-like-yesterday.html
The Roberts' Peace Corps Journey in Honduras. Saturday, November 19, 2011. Are why we are Peace Corps Volunteers. Whereas Wednesday was a bit frustrating, yesterday felt like a golden moment of development and progress. It wasn't perfect, but the seedlings were doing very well, and the neighbor whose yard they were using owns a restaurant and plans to add the veggies into the daily lunch she serves! I thought such progress would only come near the end of our service, but it was incredible!
Howdy from Honduras: March 2011
http://robertsx2.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
The Roberts' Peace Corps Journey in Honduras. Sunday, March 20, 2011. A note - this one is backdated. We've been here for quite a bit now, and this is really the first opportunity to sit down at MY computer. Lauren's been hogging the little internet that we actually have. She's an internets thief. Anyway, this was written a few days after we'd been here. We also flew over Cuba. I waved at Raul. Anywho - it's an interesting ride, and on my next trip in, I'm going to film it. Or maybe somebody can find...

http://robertsx2.blogspot.com/2011/11/honduras-wins-again.html
The Roberts' Peace Corps Journey in Honduras. Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Honduras wins again" is a phrase we PCVs love to use when, for whatever reason; be it that Hondurans will only come to meetings when snacks are involved (and PCVs don't have funding for snacks guys, sorry), a meeting that was pressed upon you to start at 8am maaaaybe. Used to sound like nails grinding on a chalk board, it now only brings a general eye-roll ( fijese que. I certainly don't want to use this blog as an outlet for fru...

Not Lost, Just Wandering
Not Lost, Just Wandering. Wednesday, May 18, 2016. 25 Thoughts I Had On My 25th Birthday. The end of my service is near, my friends. My mind is racing more than ever. Here's a little clip of what the inside of my brain looked like as I turned a quarter century old. 1) Why am I itchy? 2) I have to help my students prepare for an English debate contest. That's coming up on Friday. Guess I'm working until the bitter end! 3) How many more call-to-prayers do I have left to listen to in Indonesia? 22) I'm itch...

Lindsay in Moldova | Stories from a health educator and Peace Corps volunteer
Stories from a health educator and Peace Corps volunteer. This Week’s Lesson. This is not Moldova. August 2, 2011. I feel like I’m carrying a screaming, squirming infant in my arms and no one is noticing. Most people just ignore it. Some let their eyes pause briefly on it, ask a quick question and turn back to their smartphones. Very few take the time to find out what I’m holding, and then I find I have no words to explain what has happened to me. And it’s fun for the kids! So now I’m desperately waiting...

In a gentle way you can shake the world. Gandhi. Lisa's Aventura Hondureña en el Cuerpo de Paz. Monday, January 16, 2012. As a way to re-cap a little bit of what I went through since June 2010, here is a list:. 1 parasite (giardia lambia). 1 witness of a human corpse in the street. 1 bus stall (stuck in the mud for an hour). 2 cases of lice (I am shocked it was only 2). 2 Christmas caroling events, in Spanish of course. 2 successful grants written, accepted and received to fund projects. I was saving a l...

October 9, 2013, was the day of the Presidential elections in Azerbaijan.
