London City (mum): December 2014
http://www.londoncitymum.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, 27 December 2014. Since the last grump-fest. Anyway. I have been very busy today. I decided, for some random reason - possibly related to the strand of post 'C' day craziness alluded to above although I have been nowhere near any shops for a fortnight or longer. To have a look at my Twitter followers. All 1117 of them. It makes for some. I have broken it down into statistical percentages* for your benefit. I'm a new mum/soon-to-be-mum/mother of eight-and-counting" followers: 23%. Actual people ...

London City (mum): What the eye sees - the revived version
http://www.londoncitymum.com/2015/08/what-eye-sees-revived-version.html
Tuesday, 4 August 2015. What the eye sees - the revived version. It is not a secret that I love people watching. Sit me in a café window or on a bench in an airport or railway station and I will be very content for an hour or two just observing everybody passing by and providing suitable sartorial commentary in my head. Sometimes even out loud when in company, which scares the bejeezus out of OH (he is still very British in this regard). That is me now. I suppose a case of justice served. Let's get one t...

London City (mum): When all else fails, head to Sweden
http://www.londoncitymum.com/2015/06/when-all-else-fails-head-to-sweden.html
Monday, 8 June 2015. When all else fails, head to Sweden. So Things appear to be on an eternal 'go-slow' loop at the moment. Calls are not returned. Emails take days to be answered. Individuals require endless chasing for updates. Replies are not exactly what you are hoping for. Projects take forever and then more to get off the ground. Work undertaken comes consistently under the perennial 'free' banner. The one saving grace is that the hard proof copy of my book. But there are things to look forward to.

London City (mum): October 2014
http://www.londoncitymum.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, 30 October 2014. Musings of posts gone by. When I started out on this (blogging) journey, way back in July 2009, I had two reasons for taking it up: a) sanity, and b) amusement. The company I was working for at the time had recently been taken over by another, and what initially appeared to be a fantastic opportunity and investment for all involved turned out to be, as ever, the biggest disappointment this side of the Tooth Fairy. Either way, someone snitched (yes, I know who). Sanity is a fine...

London City (mum): August 2015
http://www.londoncitymum.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 23 August 2015. Cut and paste (and a photo). It is holiday time. Loads of things going on, not all of them uplifting, but we are away nonetheless. In a place I know well and have loved for many years. Small mercies during trying times. And because whilst on leave I am also doing some writing and editing work (yes, really). For which I will be paid (yes, really, again). 8232;WORDS THAT ARE DIFFICULT TO SAY WHEN DRUNK:. Indubitably

London City (mum): March 2015
http://www.londoncitymum.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 24 March 2015. How not to interview. Let me tell you a little secret. I have almost finished my book. The one I am writing, that is, not the ones I read for Kevin. And I say 'almost' because it has been a labour of love for the past eighteen months and I still have. Five more chapters to write. Anyhow, the book. It is not a novel. It is not chick lit. It is not a crime thriller. It is definitely not science fiction. It is a career guide for women. And men, should they be that way inclined. The i...

London City (mum): May 2015
http://www.londoncitymum.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, 24 May 2015. Lost in bike land. You know the joke about Moses being lost in the desert for forty years because he would not ask for directions? Well, I was in a similar position yesterday. Except I was on a bike. On a group ride. In the Surrey Hills. The short version of the story goes like this:. Lose sight of others. Take scenic detour home. The long version is more akin to this:. Take part in women's Surrey Hills. Join second (of four). Lag behind after 35km. Lose sight of the others. Today my...

London City (mum): January 2015
http://www.londoncitymum.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, 24 January 2015. Kevin's way with words. Unbelievably, Kevin is now in his fifteenth year. And in true teenage style, this week the Kevinettes wined, dined, laughed and chatted about all and everything, including the books - one. Which we all hated (facts, facts, more facts, names, more names, names that were referenced then not mentioned again until seven chapters later, more names, more factszzzz I have lost track. you get the picture). We had some very lively conversations going. Umbrella," ...

London City (mum): Facebook vs LinkedIn - a common dilemma
http://www.londoncitymum.com/2015/08/facebook-vs-linkedin-common-dilemma.html
Monday, 10 August 2015. Facebook vs LinkedIn - a common dilemma. This may be a more serious sort of post. Joke It most definitely is not. Well, depends on your point of view, I suppose. Anyway, to my dilemma: I wrote a short post last week about the importance of first impressions. You would think people might take the (subtle) hint, right? Just today I get yet another request from some person whom I have never heard of, never met, never come across in my many years in business. Bless him. I think he...
