Monday, August 10, 2015. TELLING A JOKE WHEN YOU'RE NOT QUITE FOUR YEARS OLD. Last Friday night, possibly inspired by his big brother's barrage of jokes, Tyler told a joke of his own. Here is Tyler's joke:. August 10, 2015 at 8:09 PM. I didnt realize this was taking place. Must have been in another room. :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The House on Oak Valley: July 2014

Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Shortly after moving into the house on Oak Valley, we got rid of our lawnmower. And replaced our back lawn with a patio. The patio looked great, but we soon realized it was too narrow to ever place even a small patio table in the yard. It needed to be widened. This week it was. Next summer it looks like we'll be able to find seating at an outside table. The base of the trumpet vine in the middle of the patio. The base of the trumpet vine at the south end of the patio. The House on Oak Valley: BROTHER MOCKING BROTHER
http://houseonoakvalley.blogspot.com/2015/08/brother-mocking-brother.html
Saturday, August 8, 2015. This morning Silas shared a story with me. Last December his mom and dad were out of the house and he, being the oldest child, was left in charge of his siblings. After his parents left the house one of his siblings threw a bit of a tantrum. Tyler shouted (and this is a direct quote), "Hold me, Mommy! The mocker and the mocked. The video is indeed short. It runs only 14 seconds. Here it is:. August 8, 2015 at 9:29 PM. Oh, those little Ws. :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The House on Oak Valley: NAOMI'S BIRTHDAY PARTY WEEKEND (Part 1)
http://houseonoakvalley.blogspot.com/2015/08/naomis-birthday-party-weekend-part-1.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. NAOMI'S BIRTHDAY PARTY WEEKEND (Part 1). Tomorrow Naomi is having a party to celebrate her eighth birthday. This morning I left home early, picked up Hunter at his house and took him with me for the occasion. After clocking 628.3 miles on the trip odometer, which included a full hour to travel only ten miles through Portland rush hour traffic, we arrived at Naomi's house in time for pizza. Then we hung out and we went to bed. Tomorrow is a party day and will require some rest.

The House on Oak Valley: April 2015
http://houseonoakvalley.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 20, 2015. SIXTEEN YEARS, SEVEN MONTHS AND A DAY. There are other interesting comparisons. Between these two couples. Each couple has had one incredibly photogenic half. Both couples have had one person highly skilled at banging on a keyboard. Both girls, at one time, apparently had an affection for tether ball. Both couples looked pretty good when they got dressed up. Each couple graduated together. Both brides were given away by one man who loved them to another man who loved them. For a b...

The House on Oak Valley: February 2015
http://houseonoakvalley.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 14, 2015. Last night Debra’s phone rang. It was 14-year-old granddaughter, Baylee. Baylee was pretty excited! Her mother, Josie, had just called a local Christian radio station. The third caller to the station was going to win two tickets to a Chris Tomlin / Tenth Avenue North / Rend Collective concert. Josie was the third caller and the winner! Debra was the third caller right after Josie was the previous third caller. So, it looks like a girl’s weekend getaway will be happening...

Thursday, July 23, 2015. She knew I was going to take her on a surprise trip on her birthday today, but she had no idea where I was taking her. When we pulled into the parking lot of the Laurel Hill Golf Course and she saw the Rogue Valley Zip Line sign nailed to a tree, she immediately became both excited and nervous. She always wanted to do a zip line tour but she did not know that I knew that she always wanted to do a zip line tour. But I knew. And we did it. Harnessed, helmeted and ready to zip.

The House on Oak Valley: November 2014
http://houseonoakvalley.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 22, 2014. Last Tuesday our washer died. It leaked all over the floor. I had considered CPR, but I already did CPR on our dryer a couple months ago and I just wasn't in the mood to try my limited handyman skills this time in trying to resuscitate this appliance. The washer apparently sprung a leak in the drum and soaked the floor. Towels absorbed the leakage. The washer leaves next weekend. After a delightful ti. Me of folding clothes together, we went out to lunch and then went home.
