Sunday, August 12, 2012. Kenya Bound : Update. In a mere 20 days I will be on a plane headed to Nairobi, Kenya. Wellheaded to Minneapolis, MN. I'm not going to lie.I feel a little queasy when I think of being on a plane that takes me far away from my babies, and then getting on another plane that takes me even further from them and then getting on. Plane that takes me almost as far away from them as I could possibly go. I'm giddy with excitement for this trip. People, you've left at home. You are my MVP's.

Friday, March 7, 2008. Potty training, that is. I must be really bad at this mommy thing because Beck is just not getting the hang of this. We've tried bribing, shaming, celebrating, running around with nothing on the bottom (not me, him), asking "need to go potty? 5,000 times an hour, and reading books like Everybody Poops and It's Potty Time! I have this dream of homeschooling my children. I want to teach them our values that we, as a family, hold dear. I want to teach them a love for literature and history. I want to instill in them a deep, rich knowledge of God. Right now my kids attend preschool and will probably start their formal schooling in a public school. I love curriculum and reading with them and so, although they are "in school", I am still teaching them at home in a very informal way. Five in a Row. Before Five in a Row.
