Ministering Mama: September 2004
http://housewifesdilemma.blogspot.com/2004_09_01_archive.html
How do you juggle kids, autism, a marriage, a house, and a calling to God? These are my mini-sermons on motherhood, marriage, vocations, and the life that happens when we're not looking. Thursday, September 30, 2004. Two kids and a dog. Motherhood, the hardest job you'll ever love. Or so the saying goes. Not that I disagree for certainly it is a very hard job and I do love it, but it seems so silly to try to encapsulate motherhood in one throw away sentance. Why did I become a mother? Hell yes. No on...

Ministering Mama: August 2004

How do you juggle kids, autism, a marriage, a house, and a calling to God? These are my mini-sermons on motherhood, marriage, vocations, and the life that happens when we're not looking. Friday, August 20, 2004. This past spring I turned 30. Something about major milestones tends to inspire reflection. So here I am. And what about your husband? Does he see you as a "housewife" too? Are you the wife of his house? Does his secretary or assistant become his "workwife"? So I am left with being a housewife an...

La Mamacita: January 2006
http://lamamacita.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
Days in the life of a mother-teacher-wife. Tuesday, January 31, 2006. In an effort to get my daughter to read SOMETHING besides Harry Potter, I pulled Gail Carson Levine's Newberry award winner. She does indeed marry the prince, but theirs is an equal partnership based on mutual respect - a model that's pretty rare in these kinds of stories. Finally, I thought, an empowering fairy tale! My daughter, tom boy that she is, loved the fact that "this princess can have fun! There are many movies I've loved as ...

La Mamacita: Tapas
http://lamamacita.blogspot.com/2006/07/tapas_05.html
Days in the life of a mother-teacher-wife. Wednesday, July 05, 2006. Until tapas night. The inspiration came admittedly late. Two nights before the party my husband and I were dreaming of planning a family trip to Spain in a couple of years, and memories of Barcelona tapas bars ushered in the idea. The Spanish eat dinner ridiculously late by my husband's standards, so during our summer there six years ago, we frequently joined the Spaniards in tapas bars, drinking a. Cookbook, Penelope Casas,. Heat the o...

La Mamacita: And here's to you...
http://lamamacita.blogspot.com/2006/05/and-heres-to-you.html
Days in the life of a mother-teacher-wife. Thursday, May 11, 2006. And here's to you. My husband's AP students have taken the dreaded exam and can now rest on their laurels a bit. In celebration, he's going to show them a couple of classic films, and last night he previewed. I think I may be older than she was at the time, and I kept finding myself thinking how cute her skirt was and if she'd just change the highlights in her hair a bit. I fear, may not stand the test of time. Others, I'm hoping, like.

La Mamacita: March 2006
http://lamamacita.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Days in the life of a mother-teacher-wife. Thursday, March 30, 2006. I should be blogging, but I'm consumed by this. Posted by Mamacita @ 11:04 AM 5 comments. Monday, March 27, 2006. I have several cookbooks that I turn to regularly. I love Mollie Katzen, although my husband complains that she's too bland, and Deborah Madison taught me that there was more to vegetables than just broccoli and asparagus and that you can roast just about anything. Libbie has piqued my interest in Nigella Lawson. But in 1999,.

Mimilou: April 2005
http://mimilou.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 27, 2005. Okay, that's it. Until next week, I absolve myself of feeling guilty for not blogging more frequently. There's a lot I want to write about, but the past few weeks have been kind of crazy. As I often lament, I hate it when real life interferes with blogging. A laptop will, I think, help matters greatly. As will my finishing a large freelance project, due next week. Should I wear my hair up or down? Should I pay to have my makeup done? If I do, will it wear off by mid-ceremony?
