A year in the life of a language assistant (by phoebe)
May | 2012 | Hobbs Hits Niedersachsen
https://phoebehobbs.wordpress.com/2012/05
A year in the life of a language assistant. Archive May, 2012. Niedersachsen, here I come! I am, quite frankly, shocking at keeping a record of my life in written form. So many diaries are tucked away in drawers with only a few pitiful entries scrawled across the pages, but hopefully this coming year will be the most action-packed and deserving of record yet! A couple of days ago I received an email which confirmed that I’d been given a post to work as an English language assistant in Niedersachsen.

A year in the life of a language assistant. Archive January, 2013. Hannover: Sightseeing, Spaghettieis and Friendly Faces. On Tuesday Roswitha, the lady in Herzlake who I tutor, offered to take me to Hannover as she had to go there on business and could take me along for free. So, naturally, as I had the day off school, I said yes! I have no idea how I’ll survive the German winter if it is already this cold in October! But Roswitha speaks very clearly which helps a great deal. She also understands wh...

A year in the life of a language assistant. Herbstferien Adventure Day 1: Bremen to Hannover. As she was a P.E. teacher, she was given a series of sport-related tasks to complete. This included cycling around the well-crowded Mensa, performing balancing acts on a wooden beam, shooting basketball hoops and extreme skipping, which we all rated by holding up either a little green card with a thumbs up on it or a red one with a thumbs down! Showing off some basketball skills. So, on Friday afternoon I hopped...

A year in the life of a language assistant. Archive March, 2013. Book Groups, Cigarette Boxes and Nausea. This week, I felt a lot more confident in my classes. I had to prepare a presentation on the Great Lakes of North America for my 8. Ellen asked me to prepare the same material later on, but I now know it pretty well as I’ve already delivered it to a class. A local poet had come in to read some of her work to us, which we then discussed. That afternoon and evening consisted of lots of sleeping. Herbst...

https://phoebehobbs.wordpress.com/2012/09
A year in the life of a language assistant. Archive September, 2012. Hast du… einen … Freund? Today was my second day at school, despite it already being Thursday! And it truly felt like Autumn. No more skipping around barefoot for me. I sat in on three more classes: two Maths and one German. The class I was with for two of the hours was absolutely brilliant! But the kids were great. I had a whole range of weird and wonderful questions thrown at me, such as Do you live in Greenwich? 8211; No I don’t!

Now, Halloween isn’t exactly celebrated much here like it is in the UK and US and, being practically. The Life of a European Jet-setter. Because travelling through Europe after Uni is far more fun than staying in Britain! Winter is finally here! It has been a long time since my last update and I must apologise for my neglect of this blog! Such a lot has been going on in the last couple of months from Swiss bureaucracy to traveling and forays into journalism (more on this later)! Bern: The Accidental Capital City | The Life of a European Jet-setter
https://luciannamharrison.wordpress.com/2014/11/18/bern-the-accidental-capital-city
The Life of a European Jet-setter. Because travelling through Europe after Uni is far more fun than staying in Britain! Bern: The Accidental Capital City. For the first time since being here I have properly gone somewhere for the weekend, and that somewhere is the relatively little-known city of Bern… and apparently Switzerland’s Capital. Having now been there for the weekend I can see why very few people are aware of the significance of the city in Switzerland. Perhaps the most important figure to have ...

So I went on to dictionary and this is what it told me:. Greek Mythology a Titaness, daughter of Uranus (Heaven) and Gaia (Earth). She became the mother of Leto and thus the grandmother of Apollo and Artemis. In the later Greek writers, her name was often used for Selene (Moon). My Last Blog Post. Deep Water Bay Dragon boating:.
