The Listener Crossword Weblog. Listener 4010 - Euclid's Algorithm by Aedites. Just a short one for my final LiveJournal blog and I shall drop the pretence of writing in real time. Aedites is a familiar Listener setter for me and I was surprised to see that he has only being going since May 2000 with this his eleventh puzzle (second this year), about half of them numerical. October 6th, 2006. 23,413 - Nice of them to make it fairly easy. Oct 6th, 2006 at 11:06 AM. A good warm-up puzzle for the champs - a tricky clue to a short word at 6, a non-obvious anag. (for me at least - looked for ROMAN? First) at 8, and a need to eliminate a red herring at 16. BAIL - a small bar on a cricket field. Very easy to rush into RAIL instead.
