Pocono Yogi: It's All About Support
http://poconoyogi.blogspot.com/2016/03/its-all-about-support.html
Friday, March 11, 2016. It's All About Support. Support is key to any practice. At first I think I was a mixture of confused and embarrassed by them. Being referred to as a "prop" - something to prop you up - I think I saw them as a sign of weakness, something that let everyone in the room know I was a beginner and not that adept at my practice. Oh, how wrong I was! All we knew about yoga when I started this journey four years ago was that it's good for stress relief. And man, was I in need of relief!
Pocono Yogi: Happy New Year!
http://poconoyogi.blogspot.com/2016/12/happy-new-year.html
Saturday, December 31, 2016. Another year has gone by. It's a time of reflection, of setting goals, of dreaming dreams, aspiring and hoping for good things to come. It can also be a time of immense pressure. As the song goes, "What are you doing New Year's Eve? Are you surrounded by friends or family? Did you have many invitations as to choose from? Are you spending the holiday as you usually do? Do you like to ring in the new year quietly? To that I say bah-humbug! This afternoon, I went on a mini-date ...
Pocono Yogi: "The Joyful Journey"
http://poconoyogi.blogspot.com/2016/10/the-joyful-journey.html
Wednesday, October 5, 2016. It didn't take me long to realize I was completely out of my comfort zone, even though I had been practicing a few years. This was the first time I signed myself up for something without knowing the outcome. Of course the desired outcome, the goal, is to become a certified yoga teacher. But will I pass the test and become a teacher others can learn from and will want to practice with? I have no idea. There is no guaranteed outcome and yet I am doing this anyway? To celebrate m...
Pocono Yogi: April 2016
http://poconoyogi.blogspot.com/2016_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 11, 2016. We are not seeing a situation as it truly is if we have expectations.". I first discovered this quote two years ago when reading Judith Hanson Lasater's. A Year of Living Your Yoga: Daily Practices to Shape Your Life. I've learned, both on and off the mat, that letting go of expectations is one of the hardest things to do. And try doing it in terms of relationships. It's damn near impossible! You have released the expectations you were holding on to. We put timetables on everything.

Country Lifestyle: August 2012
http://countrylifestyle-karen.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Stories from our Country Corner in the Pocono Mountains. About Me and My Blog. Friday, August 31, 2012. Cars, Cars, Everywhere. What constitutes "country living"? For some, it's wide open spaces. For some, it's the length or miles of the car ride to get a gallon of milk. And for others, it's a lack of Starbucks or other "adequate" shopping. And depending on where you live in the Pocono Mountains, the township or borough will have one of those characteristics. Sounds lovely, no? Labels: In the Country.

Country Cooking: Tickled Pink
http://countrycooking-karen.blogspot.com/2014/08/tickled-pink.html
Follow one woman as she cooks in her country home, making the most of what her surroundings have to offer: wonderful local ingredients. Friday, August 29, 2014. When I first started learning to cook, I would write out recipes on index or fancy recipe cards and keep them in cute boxes or in binders. Over time, this became a bit labor intensive, so I started just printing the recipes, putting them in sleeve protectors, and storing them all in your average binder from an office supply store. And so we did.

Follow one woman as she cooks in her country home, making the most of what her surroundings have to offer: wonderful local ingredients. Tuesday, November 18, 2014. And so, less than a week away from my 37th birthday, I found myself at Williams-Sonoma. On a Saturday morning, watching my 6-year-old son roll out pie dough to make decorations for Thanksgiving pies. What the heck happened? Saturday morning at Williams-Sonoma, working on pie crust. A photo posted by @kmiracane on. Nov 11, 2014 at 5:40pm PST.

Stories from our Country Corner in the Pocono Mountains. About Me and My Blog. Wednesday, January 8, 2014. Country is not just for the radio. There are several country networks on TV: CMT. And now we have a new channel. PCN: Pennsylvania Cable Network. This channel isn't just country - it's local country. No reruns of "Reba". Or "The Dukes of Hazzard". We didn't have TV like this when I was living in Jersey. Only in the country! Labels: In the Country. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Follow one woman as she cooks in her country home, making the most of what her surroundings have to offer: wonderful local ingredients. Monday, March 16, 2015. Battle of the Banana Breads. My son loves bananas, and I always have them in the house. But some weeks he is a little slow to eat them, and I need to make use of the overripe ones. Caramelized Banana Bread with Browned Butter Glaze. Flavorful and moist. Does not develop a "crust" while baking. Cinnamon Crumb Banana Bread. It has crumbs on top.

Pocono Yogi
Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Finding Space for Breath. When I started my practice 5 years ago, I concentrated solely on the physical aspect of yoga: asana. That I was all I knew, other than seeing the occasional picture of someone sitting in lotus with his/her eyes closed in meditation. But meditation was some New Age stuff I wasn’t capable of. And prana what? I like meditation and pranayama. There, I said it. How did I discover this? Monday, January 2, 2017. You with the sad eyes. It's hard to take courage.

The Minority Report
Hi And welcome to my space on the net where I bitch about minority representation on TV and in movies. Nothing personal. There's no chip on the ol' shoulder and I do happen to work in the industry. Just observations. Harmless observations. :). Friday, April 18, 2008. Undercover starts off with typical fare, but quickly shifts gears and make some surprising and welcome choices with race, casting and character.
