Country Cooking: Best. Banana Bread. Ever.

http://countrycooking-karen.blogspot.com/2014/01/best-banana-bread-ever.html

Follow one woman as she cooks in her country home, making the most of what her surroundings have to offer: wonderful local ingredients. Thursday, January 9, 2014. Best Banana Bread. Ever. Since I've had my son, not a week goes by that I don't buy bananas. Some weeks, all of the bananas are gone before I can buy more. And others, well, I'm left with soft, browning bananas that no one wants to eat. Then I found the recipe below from Cooking Light. Caramelized Banana Bread with Browned Butter Glaze. Melt re...

Country Cooking: Tickled Pink

http://countrycooking-karen.blogspot.com/2014/08/tickled-pink.html

Follow one woman as she cooks in her country home, making the most of what her surroundings have to offer: wonderful local ingredients. Friday, August 29, 2014. When I first started learning to cook, I would write out recipes on index or fancy recipe cards and keep them in cute boxes or in binders. Over time, this became a bit labor intensive, so I started just printing the recipes, putting them in sleeve protectors, and storing them all in your average binder from an office supply store. And so we did.

http://countrycooking-karen.blogspot.com/2014/09/pumpkin-spice-and-everything-nice.html

Follow one woman as she cooks in her country home, making the most of what her surroundings have to offer: wonderful local ingredients. Monday, September 22, 2014. Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice. I suspect it may be impossible to walk into any type of coffee shop and NOT see a pumpkin beverage on the menu. Even the supermarkets carry pumpkin coffee creamer. This gourd is everywhere! I decided to take the original Thai Iced Tea recipe. Iced Pumpkin Chai Latte. A Country Cooking Original Recipe. I like ...

Country Cooking: Out of the Box

Follow one woman as she cooks in her country home, making the most of what her surroundings have to offer: wonderful local ingredients. Monday, September 8, 2014. Out of the Box. But sometimes, you gotta go back to the basics. And as I lamented while trying to come up with last week's menu, my husband suggested I go through some of my older recipes. They may be simple, but I can get them on the table much faster than what some of my usual dishes. And he was right. So with school now in session, if there ...

Country Cooking: Passing It On

http://countrycooking-karen.blogspot.com/2014/11/passing-it-on.html

Follow one woman as she cooks in her country home, making the most of what her surroundings have to offer: wonderful local ingredients. Tuesday, November 18, 2014. And so, less than a week away from my 37th birthday, I found myself at Williams-Sonoma. On a Saturday morning, watching my 6-year-old son roll out pie dough to make decorations for Thanksgiving pies. What the heck happened? Saturday morning at Williams-Sonoma, working on pie crust. A photo posted by @kmiracane on. Nov 11, 2014 at 5:40pm PST.

Country Lifestyle: August 2012

http://countrylifestyle-karen.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Stories from our Country Corner in the Pocono Mountains. About Me and My Blog. Friday, August 31, 2012. Cars, Cars, Everywhere. What constitutes "country living"? For some, it's wide open spaces. For some, it's the length or miles of the car ride to get a gallon of milk. And for others, it's a lack of Starbucks or other "adequate" shopping. And depending on where you live in the Pocono Mountains, the township or borough will have one of those characteristics. Sounds lovely, no? Labels: In the Country.

Pocono Yogi: Finding Space for Breath

http://poconoyogi.blogspot.com/2017/01/finding-space-for-breath.html

Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Finding Space for Breath. When I started my practice 5 years ago, I concentrated solely on the physical aspect of yoga: asana. That I was all I knew, other than seeing the occasional picture of someone sitting in lotus with his/her eyes closed in meditation. But meditation was some New Age stuff I wasn’t capable of. And prana what? I like meditation and pranayama. There, I said it. How did I discover this? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Finding Space for Breath.

Pocono Yogi: January 2016

http://poconoyogi.blogspot.com/2016_01_01_archive.html

Wednesday, January 27, 2016. It will never be the same.". It will never be the same.". It will never be like it was.". It can never be like it used to be.". Throughout our lives I am sure we have all heard some variation of the sentences above. We may even had said those words ourselves. And usually when they are spoken, it is about the relationship between people. It finally clicked. I was taking my practice off the mat, applying the lessons I was learning for my yoga practice to my daily life. The answ...

Pocono Yogi: July 2016

http://poconoyogi.blogspot.com/2016_07_01_archive.html

Wednesday, July 6, 2016. The Art of Adjustment. In my youth, and for brief stints in adulthood, I was a dancer. So when I first saw the video below, I deeply appreciated its beauty, grace, and artistry. I also saw it as something to aspire to, if not to master each post but to find the same fluidity and grace in my own practice. There's just one thing stopping me from achieving that sense of fluidity and grace: I'm adjusting myself when I move from pose to pose. And I'm amazed by how much it can do.

Stories from our Country Corner in the Pocono Mountains. About Me and My Blog. Wednesday, January 8, 2014. Country is not just for the radio. There are several country networks on TV: CMT. And now we have a new channel. PCN: Pennsylvania Cable Network. This channel isn't just country - it's local country. No reruns of "Reba". Or "The Dukes of Hazzard". We didn't have TV like this when I was living in Jersey. Only in the country! Labels: In the Country. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Country Cooking by Sandra Marie

Country Cooking by Sandra Marie. Food and travel blog. Sunday, April 24, 2016. Sautee'd Vegi's and Garlic Sauce Over Pasta. The other night I went out for dinner and ordered a pasta dish full of favor, tomatoes, lots of garlic and spinach. I did not have any spinach so I substituted spinach for shaved Brussels sprouts. You will love this if you are a garlic and tomato fan. This would also taste great with broccoli or any vegi you may have on hand. Olive oil 2 tbsp. One small onion chopped. 1/2 c red wine.
