Thursday, April 2, 2009. The 2nd stakeholder meeting in Ca Mau. We all found that it is much more successful than the first one were conducted in Bac Lieu in November 2007. PhD students are more confident and specific to their research and results from the field while the participants also contributed more to the research. Shrimp used for my SID determination are dying and can be determinated tomorrow because 50% of shrimp have died in 2 consecutive dilutions. hope they are also infected. can compute for LD50 tomorrow. A paper was also accepted for publication and may come out in the December issue of the journal. Had bonding time with collegeues over lunch and afternoon snacks, it feels good. Tank experiments to validate the effect of identified WSSV risk, such as different temperature and salinity levels; and protective factors, such as Yellow Vibrios, Chlorella and greenwater were completed. Was able to finish the longitudinal study though data analysis is quite challenging. oh my how am I going to attack my large dataset? May 15, 2009. Ca Mau rainy season. It is good to have new flow-meter before going to Ca Mau. The flow-meter looks like a rocket with 6 digits counter inside. The follows are several steps of using it that I tried to find by myself (they provided a not very good manual in deed):. 1 Open the screw at back side, inject tap water in to the flow meter, and tighten the screw again. 3 Read the current number on counter, write down the number or just remember if you can. 7 Read the new number in the counter.

Everyone gave the name, especially one farmer said that: Why don't we use the name "Ha Tan", because today Mrs. Ha from Ha Noi come to Tan An and participate in this meeting. Thursday, March 12, 2009. News from Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces. Aquaculture workers in the Mekong Delta are distressed. More than 2,600 ha shrimp die in Ca Mau and Bac Lieu. According to Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu (8 March 2009), unusual and heated sunlight for long time makes more than 2,600 ha shrimp die, in which Bac Lieu is accounted for 1,395 ha and Ca Mau 1,228 ha.
