Skip to primary content. May 20, 2015. I recently upgraded my iphone (get it: phone/phirst-world? Ugh, i know! As i’ll likely be making many, many road hacks and trail rides by myself as i try to bring auto back into work, i need to figure out how to bring the phone along for the ride. Here’s what i found via a very useful COTH thread. And a other general searching on the internets. DareSoar Phone Silk. Available via Kickstarter. Spibelt photo from the spibelt website. I’ve been eyeing the flipbelt...

Stupid Texas Dirt
https://ridingwithscissors.com/2015/06/19/stupid-texas-dirt
A weenie adult rider and her lug of a horse poorly riding through life. June 19, 2015. So it’s definitely hell getting old(er). Pushes into middle age. First, he’s decided that the Texas soil does not agree with him. Then, it finally stopped raining. And the ground that was recently flooded started turning into cement and cracking WITHIN A WEEK. WTF, TEXAS. YOU MAKE-A NO SENSE-A. Yeah Thanks, Texas. And, per usual, he was a big dog with the farrier. OH MY GOD, OLLIE, MOVE. Laziness. She said that giv...

Hopeful Jumpers: May 2015
http://jessandprinceofthieves.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
May 28, 2015. Hero and I had a lesson with the new trainer today (our original Trainer A is having some serious health issues so I'm not sure when he will be back to teaching, sad Jess). That is part of what I love most about Hero. once you teach him something he's quite happy to go with it. Breaking up text with cute photo). Finally we started working on Hero's first bounce. We started off with the second jump being a pole, then up to a cross rail, then a vertical. I expected Hero to not do the ...My tr...

Hopeful Jumpers: Hanging Out With The Boys
http://jessandprinceofthieves.blogspot.com/2015/08/hanging-out-with-boys.html
August 4, 2015. Hanging Out With The Boys. Well the rains have continued (yesterday broke a 42 year record for the amount of rain we got and the flooding in some areas was leading to emergency evacuations) and as such, the riding has not been happening. Hero has gotten his shoe put back on, but everything is just too muddy and wet to do much more than walk. I've really been wishing we had some sort of covered arena lately! This weekend all I did was groom the boys and take them out for some hand grazing.

kjai111 – Wannabe Eventer
https://kjai111.wordpress.com/author/kjai111
April 2, 2016. Well, back to being a wannabe. So finally, I’ve had to accept that eventing isn’t going to be my thing. At Canberra horse trials (EvA 80) Dingaling put his hooves down and said no thanks. So, I’m very disappointed but I feel I’ve done as much as I can do at this stage so a sandpit pony he will be. I’ve been doing a bit of dressaging in the mean time. Ding’s still sitting around 65% for elementary, needs more engagement is the general theme. Go the big nugget! December 21, 2015. I’ve ...

Something To Talk About: When life gets crazy - update from our neck of the woods

Tack - Product Reviews. Rolex Results and Statistics. Friday, August 14, 2015. When life gets crazy - update from our neck of the woods. I then had to go home and prep for horse summer camp this week. My time off work is used to do more work! But really, I love it and it helps me pay off the large vet bills my accident-prone horse can't resist. Tillie enjoying the attention from summer camp students. Her previous farrier had her toes long and break over in the wrong spot. Tillie all tucked in. Well i get...

A fair bit to catch up on! – Wannabe Eventer
https://kjai111.wordpress.com/2015/01/22/a-fair-bit-to-catch-up-on
January 22, 2015. A fair bit to catch up on! Well there has been a bit going on. I’ll start where I left off with Tarni. The plan is to send her up to my sister’s place in Qld where she can hang around on her much larger property. Then, in the last couple of weeks I noticed Miss Tarni trotting (waddling) without that telltale headbob. So, back on the lunge she goes and she’s sound! Quite unfit and lacking her old suspension in her trot but definitely sound. So, I approached the local jump club and they k...

August 2015 – Wannabe Eventer
https://kjai111.wordpress.com/2015/08
August 17, 2015. Some more dressage, the good and the bad. Off to Young dressage again for our second go at an Elementary test. This is our first “official’ competition. I finally sucked it up and paid to have an ‘official competitor” (or whatever it’s called) membership with Equestrian Australia, and registered Dingaling. We had to get a dressage card, or some such thing as well. First test was the elementary 3.1. I thought crap. now us! However, Ding did ok. We scored 65% and came first in the clas...

Back In The Tack. August 26, 2015. August 25, 2015. Dressage is hard even in a fancy (rented) County saddle says Nibbles. Quo Vadis: Part 3 – What Lies Ahead. August 20, 2015. August 17, 2015. Is Latin for Where are you going? If you’re just joining us, check out Part 1: A Riding and Not Riding History. And Part 2: Current State of Affairs. A goal without a plan is just a wish.
