Monday, June 22, 2015. Father's Day and "Can You Beat the Daddy 4.0". Every year Rich wants to downplay Father's Day but I can't imagine not celebrating this terrific dad. In what has become a true tradition, Rich received the "Can You Beat the Daddy" box filled with a new batch of Minute to Win It games. This year is was Kids vs. Dad. Game #1: Bite Me. Game #2: Pink Elephant. Rich redeemed himself with this game because he was the only one able to stack the slinky on his forehead without using his hands.

The Dougall Daily: November 2014

Sunday, November 30, 2014. No Charlie Brown tree for us! Did you know that Oregon has more acreage devoted to Christmas tree farming than any other state? Just a little piece of Christmas tree trivia for you). So it is almost embarrassing to admit that for the past four years we have resided in the heart of Christmas tree country and have had fake trees. FINALLY this was our year to make that right and we went out to CUT DOWN OUR OWN TREE! The decision of what tree to get was tough. But we didn't give up.

Monday, March 30, 2015. Spring Break Part 2. After having the first half of our Spring Break to ourselves, we welcomed my brother and his family to Oregon and spent the second half of our Spring Break playing at every opportunity. Was spent at the coast. We toured the Tillamook Cheese Factory, bought cheese curds and enjoyed delicious ice cream cones outside under blue skies. I am lucky they were still talking to me by the end. Once we completed the hike we went to Oceanside for a quick visit to the ocean.

Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Is anybody still using this blog? I was just thinking about blogging and realized that I hadn't heard much from this blog in a while. How is everyone? There is a ton happening in the Davis house! As most of you know, Mom and Dad have been living with us since July while their house was on the market. It has been such a joy to have them! Anyway, back to Dad and Mom. Their new house closes this week, and we're REALLY going to miss them! In addition to changes in the residents of ...

Thursday, July 31, 2014. C kind of likes basketball :). Next summer he wants to attend Basketball Camp at BYU and we are completely supportive, but supportive or not, we have told C that he has to earn a portion of the camp tuition in order to attend. Earning large sums of money is not exactly the easiest thing to do as an 11-year-old, but thanks to a generous ward member (and a dad who isn't afraid to offer his son's services) C is now delivering door hanger advertisements for a house cleaning company.

Sunday, April 27, 2014. A miracle for C. It has been a rough week for C since the coyote attack on Wednesday morning. He has accepted the death of the chickens, but in the quiet moments he lets himself think about it too much and the tears start all over again. As a mom I would do just about anything to take away the ache of his loss but there isn't a thing I can do to bring those chickens back. Boy, do I wish there was! She told us where she had seen the chicken and C was off! But little red was never f...

Sunday, April 26, 2015. Reading} a dad and his boys. I hope my boys know how lucky they are! At any given time, Rich has a book that he is reading to C and another book that he is reading to J and T together. And frequently the boys listen in on each other's books, which is cute. Not many days go by without Rich reading at least a couple of pages of each book with the respective boys. This year they have already read. Summer of the Monkeys". Where the Red Fern Grows". Another day in the Life of Katherine.
