feast with bron: June 2014
http://practicallydaily.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Sharing the love of eating magnificently every day, sometimes in my lovely kitchen and sometimes finding the great things London offers. Mostly savoury - I'm no cakey pig! Wednesday, June 18, 2014. A Veg Bag Week. Saturday we were out all day, gorgeous lunch at A Wong and a (de)light(ful) supper at Terroirs so the only food at home was made by the man strawberry and banana smoothies with coffee and toast first thing. Wednesday was time to use up the last bits from the bag - there was still a few new pota...

Press play for a quick demo. He said, had some a couple of weeks ago myself and it was brilliant. He picked up a lovely piece of cod fillet I'll give you that thick section there, be easy to cut that into nice fat fingers. And so it was. 400g piece of cod fillet, check there's no bones at all. 1 egg, beaten.

Sharing the love of eating magnificently every day, sometimes in my lovely kitchen and sometimes finding the great things London offers. Mostly savoury - I'm no cakey pig! Thursday, February 27, 2014. Laksa with Tofu Puffs. Laksa with Tofu Puffs. I have used herbs to garnish but you can add slivers of cucumber, fresh bean sprouts, halved boiled eggs and deep fried shallots - any of them will add something good to the finished bowl. For the spice paste. 1 medium onion, peeled and roughly chopped. 1/2 teas...

Sharing the love of eating magnificently every day, sometimes in my lovely kitchen and sometimes finding the great things London offers. Mostly savoury - I'm no cakey pig! Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Enquiring whether I'd care to sample a couple of bottles of Chablis - bien sur. This makes enough for a generous bowl of your favourite mix of salad leaves spiked with thin slices of cucumber and chopped chives. 1 medium egg, hard boiled and cooled. A pinch of smoked paprika. 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar.

teeth before words: December 2008

Poems for trapped things. Wednesday, December 17, 2008. Three more days . First week of term, on the other hand, is a glorious 5 weeks away right now. Five weeks introduced by two weeks of Christmas hols with the library and universities CLOSED. I may accidentally lock my office keys in my office. I'm kinda looking forward to Christmas this year. Albeit, it won't be the same so far away. But this year, we've made our own tree out of paper and stuck it to the wall (space saving! I'm feeling very blah toda...
teeth before words: eating success
http://teethbeforewords.blogspot.com/2009/08/eating-success.html
Poems for trapped things. Thursday, August 27, 2009. I am a mostly employed academic. And I've quit my solid, rent-paying, dependable library job to venture forth on this academic gig. Which is scary. I'm only sure of employment until next July. Then - into the deep: summer: the long dull winter of the part-time lecturer's soul in which paycheques dry up and stress levels skyrocket. But why anticipate such times? So I'm having a celebratory dinner tonight, which I'm cooking - along with Allegra McEvedy.

Poems for trapped things. Friday, October 10, 2008. Things that make my day. THEN I got to pat the police horses as they stood majesterial guard outside the Uni. Max is beautiful and his person very cheery - the kind of police officer straight out of a children's book - I wonder if the horses make community work easier (for people unafraid of horses! Monday, October 06, 2008. When did that happen? As Nas commented this morning on our way to campus - 'I'm a doctor! And I saw a fox! We also saw Die Welle.

Courtesy of Reidski, who once had a mate who would order said chicken omelette without peas from a local Chinese takeway. Bizarre but true! Catch it, kill it, eat it! Burns Supper A la Andy Bell. What Would Grandma Use (WWGU)? February 28, 2018. February 6, 2018. Many of the items and services that we rely on today are relatively new when you look at humanity’s timeline. Things that we take for granted today like disposable diapers and tissues, paper towels, paper coffee cups; cell phones, the internet, Facebook, television subscription services weren’t even options for our grandparents and great-grandparents. For picking up local channels, and got rid of our cable television, saving over $100/mo.

Sharing the love of eating magnificently every day, sometimes in my lovely kitchen and sometimes finding the great things London offers. Mostly savoury - I'm no cakey pig! Friday, March 10, 2017. Bitterness is viewed harshly in this overly sweet world. To be bitter is to be consumed with an intense animosity, lashed by the rawness of winter winds, suffering the distress of a galling shame. Yet bitter enemies, bitter rancor, bitter hatred create all the finest elements of great art, surely? Makes about 5 ...

Just a quick update. August 16, 2012. I turned 30, finalized my divorce, and got a new job- all within a week! I’ll write more later! June 18, 2012. I got a bike! A friend helped me search Craigslist for it, looked at it, and helped me get it home. I had to wait several days until my helmet came in and then on a Saturday morning, we set out for a short ride and ended up doing 18 miles. I had a great time! January 6, 2012. Turn an orange into a candle! Bake Cupcakes in Ice Cream Cones. January 2, 2012.
