We are ready for the final build on Saturday. Portland Youth Builders came out and back filled all the boarder area and seeded the area where the dirt came out of the playground hole. Community members, friends, and families came together to work hard to move 100,000 pounds of bark on one day. Harrison Park family and friends lend a hand. We will move this pile. Kerry Rae is the first on top! A hard working crew! Combination of hand work and the tractor makes progress. Make the pile smaller. Bench is being uncovered.

We now have 260 cubic yards to spread. (The kids asked how heavy it is so we found out from the driver that it weighs 100,000 pounds! What image do you see in the bark pile? Within 10 minutes of finishing the playground we had a dozen kids already enjoying themselves. They seemed to know that it was time to come and enjoy the fun. Moving bark into the playground. Portland Youth Builders once again sent a crew out to do some of the difficult work. They have been a wonderful addition to our supportive community. Portland Youth Builders second full day of work. Tire swings just waiting for kids. What great fun to climb. Fabric on top of the rock drainage. Someone had to test the slide.

One day earlier than expected, but better early than late. Black material is the drainage system. Rock for drainage will be 4 inches deep. Spreading the rock under the small slide. How much fun will we see on this in 12 days! Many hands make quick work. This group moved all the remaining pieces of the playground from the gym to the work site.
