My Journey Learning to Fly. Getting your Private Pilot Licence (PPL) or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) can be quite a daunting task as there are quite a few steps involved depending on what you want to get out of it. My current goal is to go all the way to CPL but currently I can only really think about getting my Student Licence by passing the General Flying Progress Test (GFPT). My Journey Learning to Fly. As you can see from the picture, these Cirrus aircraft have a very sporty look about them and this particular aircraft sure out performed the Cessna 172 I normally fly. Below is an account of what it is like getting a private pilots license. This will include the first lesson, up to the checkride and beyond. Saturday, March 24, 2007.
