When it comes to straightening inner slides, as long as there is support, the ends won’t get damaged. In this scenario, the slide plug is durable and there are two steps, one for the inner diameter of a student line inner slide and the other for an intermediate. The tool is made of steel and for this project, we used cutting oil and a dial indicator to help create the tool.

Overall, the instrument just has some dent work that needs to be taken care of and this is good to go! First thing I addressed was the dents on the main tuning slide crook. The best approach for this was using barrel size dents balls and drivers to take the dents out. Unfortunately, in straightening the bell, I accidentally moved the bell in the other direction😦.
