1000 Gifts | Make Me New
https://jenthompson82.wordpress.com/2012/07/17/1000-gifts
Baking. Photographing. Creating. Trying to get by. July 17, 2012. 8220;This act of naming grace moments, this list of God’s gifts, moves beyond the shopping list variety of prayer and into the other side. The other side of prayer, the interior of His throne room, the inner walls of His powerful, love-beating heart. The list is. So, though I think I will never make it to 1,000, I’m going to start keeping track. Because if all these little things that I can give thanks for are ways that God tells...2 Impro...

The Weekly Make: Judah's First Birthday: Part Two
http://theweeklymake.blogspot.com/2012/07/judahs-first-birthday-part-two.html
Judah's First Birthday: Part Two. Secondly, the Mama Makes. I had all sorts of plans that didn't happen. But given the time that I had, I actually got a fair amount done. We didn't have a party, but I still wanted to decorate for Judah's birthday. So I made some garlands out of circles I cut out of felt and sewed together and another with some wool felted balls stung up on yarn. I also used some pom-pom fringe I had on hand. They looked better then, but this gives you an idea. Which I found on pinterest&...

How Far We’ve Come. Awesome Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms. August 1, 2013. Middot; Leave a Comment. And since when did I find it so normal to refer to myself in the third person? Even if it’s while pushing a cart through the aisles of Target? Hyper-vigilant about the laws of the road and safety while driving. More than once a trip I’ll catch myself uttering something along the lines of “crazy driver! What’s your hurry? I miss my little man tremendously. Hello world, it’s nice to be back! Tips for Diners and Kids. On The Tough Days…. July 7, 2013. Middot; Leave a Comment. On the days when my 2 month old decides he doesn’t want to nap and gets fussy and over-tired, I just remind myself that he won’t be this little forever and that I’m going back to work soon and won’t see him as much. On the days when I get more tears than smiles, I remind myself that his first smile will always have been for his Mama. On the nights when he’s up every few hours and those few blissful nights of 8 hour...

Tips for Diners and Kids. How Far We’ve Come. July 25, 2013. Middot; Leave a Comment. When he was first born, the sound of him crying (or squeaking as we called it since he never really cried) felt like a hot poker to the chest. What did he need? Was something terribly wrong? He’s fine and that I’m going to remedy the situation in just a minute or two. I can handle the crying. What if I forgot to bring something? And if he fusses, I give him his Wubbanub paci and he’s a cool customer. Yes, we’ve gr...

August 15, 2013. Babies are difficult. Not because they mean to be or they enjoy stressing out their parents, but because as little mini-humans their means of communicating with us is very limited. The only way they know to show how they’re feeling? Crying. Or a giggle or smile if you’re lucky. I’ve been fortunate that I have […]. Continue Reading →. August 1, 2013. Continue Reading →. My toddler is climbing out of the crib. March 11, 2014. Middot; 1 Comment. I know I’ve been absent for a long time, I’m sorry about that. I’ve really been focusing on my jewelry lately and my little corner of the internet has suffered. Backwards. Sleep. Sack. Hints: April 2010
http://hintseverywhere.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 10, 2010. We used to say it when we were kids, and someone was having a temper tantrum: "you can't always get what you want.". In my adult life, once in a while when I have to work with a particularly difficult person, I have this incongruous, very cheesy fantasy that I just start rocking out and singing to the person "you can't, always get, what you want, but if you try sometimes." (incongruous because that song was probably not about temper tantrums.). Thursday, April 8, 2010. One day m...
