The pursuit of coffee (with some good beer and food along the way). February 23, 2009. Controversy is brewing (hehe) over at coffeed as to the merit (or lack thereof) of the Chemex, a manual drip brewer enjoyed by many coffee lovers the world over. The discussion. Was sparked by Scott Rao, author of the Professional Barista’s Handbook. 8230;I’d have to say (and I am not trying to stir things up here guys and gals! I am inclined to agree. Maybe I just happen to get it right when I brew. Feed for this Entry.

The pursuit of coffee (with some good beer and food along the way). Still Alive and Kicking. December 2, 2007. At this point, my readership probably only consists of feed readers and random link clickers… but that’s okay. I’m actually surprised that I’ve had decent traffic levels without posting. I have recently finished the fall semester of classes in my third year of geology at UBC. I’ll try to post more. I promise. In the meantime, stay caffeinated. Responses to “Still Alive and Kicking”. https://pullingshots.wordpress.com/2009/11/09/relaunch
The pursuit of coffee (with some good beer and food along the way). The Inaugural Coffeegeek Lab Tasting. November 9, 2009. I’m serious this time. Though I’ve been out of the coffee industry for over a year, it is time to relaunch Pulling Shots. The number of shots that I’ve pulled in the past 15 months can be counted on one hand. In fact I’m pretty sure I’ve only pulled two shots since I last worked the bar at Phil and Sebastian. However, I would like to start posting again actively. I still drink c...

Art and coffee in the words of one girl. Saturday, November 29, 2008. Is it srsly that time of year? QUESTION: when does this "holiday" season really start for you? For me, as soon as classes are over, although, I feel as though they should be finished with already. Srsly. Also, fellow baristi, have you noticed – as Phil and I were discussing today – that when you are pouring rosettas like a rockstar, that is the one day you decide to not bring your camera? Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Me at the market!
Water | Conversations on Coffee

Origin Labelling →. November 29, 2006. With the water situation in Vancouver (extra stuff in the water), the coffee’s been tasting a little different lately. I’ve noticed coffees tasting less clean from the Clover – with some tasting downright dirty! I also had a little chat with Alistair about water the other day. This got me thinking about the role of water in coffee. What components of the water are most important? This entry was posted in science. Origin Labelling →. 2 responses to “ Water. You are c...

Monthly Archives: May 2007. I’m awful at this…. May 30, 2007. Wow How many months has it been? Several interesting things have recently occurred. We had a visit from a Guatemalan coffee farmer at elysian, and it was really neat to be able to see the person that had grown the coffee that we were drinking at that exact moment. The Best of Panama auction just finished with the #1 going for $130/lb US, green. Craziness. Even crazier is that 49th Parallel has 2 bags! Espresso at the shop has been really amazi...

Sunday, April 22, 2012. On repeat for six hours today. Sunday, March 25, 2012. These arms are mine. And i suppose these temporary moments will tire easily; slipping my fingers through the liquidity of it so lazily. i still don't understand it. i don't think i ever will, really. but we're trudging along, trying to figure it out. we are always trying. don't we get points for effort? But my god, girl. aren't you the little desperate. Transference is such a bitch. Saturday, March 10, 2012. You and me, babe.

Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Yesterday was my last day as a Human Resource lady. Hopefully, it was also my last day going to work alongside machine gun-wielding soldiers and bomb dogs. You never know. I actually didn't hate HR. I like making people happy, and HR is a good place for that, if not a great place to get your creative juices flowing. Anyway, I am now officially unemployed. Yay me! Suck it, University of Southern California! Because if you don't have a job, you don't have to pay for college, right?
