view from nappy mountain: Holidays!
http://nappymountain.blogspot.com/2012/07/holidays.html
View from nappy mountain. All you need is cake. It's holiday time, yay! I have a month off, which is fabulous. There's so much we want to fit in, it will be a miracle if we manage everything. On Saturday we spent the whole day there, eating takeaway pizza for lunch, and launching The Enormous Walrus, M's new boat. She took to rowing pretty quickly (luckily we have a rope attached, so she can't zoom off across the lake.). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. I like this lot. The m...

View from nappy mountain. All you need is cake. Sundays are quite busy in our house. Yesterday, we skated at the ice hall, ate buns at the ABC caf, then headed off into the wilds of Noljakka for some skiing and potkukelkka-ing. When we got to the end, the brown ninja decided to throw herself down the massive mound of snow you can see here. She knows no fear at the moment. Links to this post. Networking or Narcissism?: Moving On Up
http://whatsthepointofblogsforwriters.blogspot.com/2007/04/moving-on-up.html
An industry analysis for MA in Professional Writing exploring the potential role of blogs for writers. Thursday, 19 April 2007. To really get to the heart of what blogging is all about, this study must be evaluated on three levels; a reflection of the way in which blogging itself works. 1 The replies I received. 2 Visiting the respondents’ blogs, and entering into communication there. 3 Information/contacts/ideas gained from exploring blogrolls at those sites. This trail led me to a vast array of writing.

Hormones and Handbags: May 2006
http://hormonesandhandbags.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Because I seem to have too many of one and never enough of the other. May 04, 2006. Move along. Nothing to see here. No really. There isn't. I have absolutely nothing to post. I have no pets or children with which to regale you with cute anecdotes and post Hallmark-like photos. You know sometimes when you think you see something out of the corner of your eye, but when you turn there's nothing there? Having said that, I am going to a wedding reception tomorrow night. Please can you join me in sending ...

Adventures in engineering: March 2006

Friday, March 31, 2006. Home of the brave? It may be the land of the free, but it certainly isn't free to enter. Perhaps because of its perceived desirability to immigrants, who think the country will provide a better standard of living than anywhere else, the entry requirements to the USA are (dare I say it? Ludicrously onerous. I've heard stories of people being deported as soon as they arrived in the States because of previously overstaying their visa. Of course there was the story about. I bought my ...

Networking or Narcissism?: Future Trends
http://whatsthepointofblogsforwriters.blogspot.com/2007/04/future-trends.html
An industry analysis for MA in Professional Writing exploring the potential role of blogs for writers. Thursday, 19 April 2007. Some speculate that blogging will peak in 2007. In the majority of the English speaking world, computer ownership has reached saturation point. However, the biggest growth area for technology is Asia, so such predictions might prove inaccurate as that market develops. One area for consideration as blogging expands is whether it will remain free. Blogspot (owned by Google.

An industry analysis for MA in Professional Writing exploring the potential role of blogs for writers. Thursday, 19 April 2007. I left a post. On Sat 14th April – deliberately timed a week prior to submission to reflect the immediacy and temporary nature of blogs. I wanted this analysis to be as current as possible. Four days later I had received:. Whilst the majority of replies were UK based, there was a response from around the globe:. The majority of replies were from previously unknown bloggers:.

View from nappy mountain. All you need is cake. It's been a busy week. We went skiing at Lykynlampi on Sunday in the sunshine. M's skating school had their end of term performance on Monday (the tinies were hilarious). The bigger ones, especially the formation skaters, were just amazing. Here's M's class in the middle of their routine. On Wednesday, I made Easter decorations with the Martat ladies. We covered eggs in paper and fabric, and us (and some of the table in my case) in glue. Links to this post.

View from nappy mountain. All you need is cake. Yes, that'll be the 16cm of snow which landed in my back garden last night then. Apparently Finnish school is brilliant because you can go and play king of the castle on the enormous snow heaps thrown up by the snowplough, and the school actually has a box of sledges you can get out at playtime. There may also have been meatballs today, which just added to the excitement. Links to this post. A weekend in Finland. Friday: Rustle makes some new friends:.
