Questioning my Intelligence: Why I Won't Read the "New" Book by Harper Lee

http://questioningmyintelligence.blogspot.com/2015/07/why-i-wont-read-new-book-by-harper-lee.html

Words, Words, Words. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Why I Won't Read the "New" Book by Harper Lee. Lots of people are excited by today's release of. Go Set a Watchman. By Harper Lee. From the beginning of the media hype, however, a small but strong sense of unease rested somewhere between my bibliophile's heart and my critic's head. As a trained literary critic, I've read plenty of books because I had to read them. Most were classics, and my critic's mind often adored them. To Kill a Mockingbird. Atticus gave m...

Words, Words, Words. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Today, I am grateful for our golden retriever, who spends a great deal of time lying around. Mommy is working. She won't play. I has a sad.". Gloom, despair, and agony on me.". George isn't really this red. Nor is Daisy nearly as unhappy as she looks. She's. Just tired, and momma's making her pose. For a bad iPhone picture. Simplicity: August 2015

Doing Simple Things Well. Monday, August 31, 2015. One of the most fundamental of card-making tools is the bone folder. This handy tool allows you to fold even 120# card stock without it looking like a kindergartner folded a piece of construction paper against the grain and awkwardly pressed the crease. My apologies if I offended any kindergartners. Then, it looks just fine. If the paper is thick, even folding with the grain looks better when you've scored. So you need a bone folder. And a butter knife.

The Singing Farmwife: February 2015

http://themeadowview.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Singing in the Kitchen. Saturday, February 21, 2015. Snow Day on the Farm. Any snow over four inches deep means that the work on the farm is doubled. Today we have at least 14 inches and it's still snowing. First Joe opens the driveway so we can get out to feed the cows. Halfway through, he must stop to repair the four-wheeler. Then, Luke and I go down to the creek to knock open a water hole for thirsty. While he's doing that, his wife entertains herself in the truck taking selfies. Links to this post.

First I hear the clink and scoop of coffee being made, then I hear the rattle of the dishwasher being loaded or unloaded. Several iterations of hide and seek later, with Jack hiding under the bed every time and shouting with incredulity, “You found me! 8221; when George walked into the room. The doe waits patiently on the other side, ears and tail flicking, as her baby runs up and. Down the barrier until it finds a hole big enough to wiggle through. Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings." William Arthur Ward. Thursday, August 27, 2015. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. What are your spiritual gifts*? Are you using them? If so, how can you use them more effectively? If not, what steps do you need to take to let the Spirit move you? It's a good thing I know and accept my vocal inadequacies and don't torment others wi...

The act of compassion begins with full attention.". Who around you is suffering? How can you exercise your compassion attentively? Very often, the answer to that second question is quite simple:.
