The Quilt Connection: October 2008
http://thequiltconnection.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
One Still Bird' by Annette Isager. I call my quilt "One Still Bird", because the bird inspired the design. I began this quilt in July 2006. It was taught in a class at Vision Patchworkers in Ipswich Queensland. This is after an origional design by Sue van Slyke (Copyrite 2006) called Sue's Medallion Quilt. Sue was assisted by Audrey Mazzaracca. The quilt was tailormade as a bedspread for an old silky oak bed. Thanks for your great work. I feel you have made my quilt an heirloom. ". The Quilt Connection: July 2010

Textile Art Festival- Brisbane. I took the afternoon off last Friday to venture into the Textile Art Festival. It turned out to be a very inspiring afternoon. The Twelve by Twelve. Exhibit was my favourite. It is the result of an online collaborative project where twelve quilt artists from all over the world present each other with a challenge based on a particular theme or colour palette. You can see the quilts on the web but it's not as impressive as seeing them up close. Resisting Temptation - or not!

My Book Promo Video. Sunday, July 27, 2014. Another wonderful crazy quilt. Oh my, what a wonderful surprise - Lenore had her beautiful crazy quilt to show me. Lenore took part in one of my 6 class workshops. She thoroughly enjoyed creating her masterpiece. Her enjoyment is evident in her exuberant stitching. Her colour palette is right up my alley - LOVE IT! As I have said, sooooooooooooooooooo many times before. What I love most about crazy is that it is unique to the maker. One rather large spider!

My Book Promo Video. Sunday, March 29, 2015. I apologise for being so quiet on social media over the past few months. Our beloved Gem Squash has been very ill and we eventually made the heartbreaking decision to euthanize her. I was devastated.I will miss her terribly. I, once again, packed up my quilts - both sane. And crazy and headed off for another trunk show. I show a lot of my students work as it adds variety and interest. Gwen's work is always greeted with oohs. Their different colour choice.

The Quilt Connection: Craft & Quilt Fair - Brisbane
http://thequiltconnection.blogspot.com/2013/10/craft-quilt-fair-brisbane_17.html
Craft and Quilt Fair - Brisbane. Following on from previous post. The real point of this exercise (Dinosaur Quilt) is to make some important points about sizing the backing to suit a quilt top. Here's how to calculate the size of a backing:. 1 Measure the Length and Width of the quilt top and jot those measurements down. 2 Add 6 - 8 inches both the length and width and jot those new measurements down too. And print out the PDF titled Quilt Backings. Okay so getting back to the point of this exercise.

My Dad Makes Quilts! My dad, John David Bond is 80 years young, a retired fitter and turner who can put his hand to anything. When I took delivery of my first quilting machine back in 2001, a second-hand Gammill Classic, the truck arrived and it took Dad, my teenage son, DH and the driver to unload the various machine parts off the truck. They’re big heavy machines! Dad had never used a needle and thread and certainly he had never had the need to venture from his work bench to Mum’s old Singer....I loade...

Craft and Quilt Fair - Brisbane. This week I am having fun at the Fair! I'm a guest of Imaaje C29 (one of my favourite online fabric shops) and giving free workshops at 11.30am every morning in Workshop 2 introducing new quilt-makers, and taking the more experienced back, to the Basics. It is my hope that the information I share will help patchworkers to achieve better results and therefore more enjoyment from this much loved craft. The Quilt Connection: Sashiko Art
http://thequiltconnection.blogspot.com/2014/10/sashiko-art_13.html
This charming little sample of Sashiko art is made by Janelle Kapernick of Qld. I just love that Janelle chose to use a dyed fabric to capture the moon behind the clouds. Very clever. I chose to add curved quilting lines with directional change to mimic the changing flow of the ocean. Labels: From My Studio. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
