We all supplied a centre block which was then passed around to the other three to be added on. Our new venue had a lot more space to display our members' beautiful quilts. Jacqui brought her collection of antique sewing machines and demonstrated how they work. This year I decided to participate in Barbara Brackman's Civil War Block of the Month "Threads of Memory ". In addition to making the blocks, I am especially enjoying the stories behind the blocks. Barbara posts a new block on the last Saturday of each month. So far, I have completed three, all made out of stash! The first block is called the "Portsmouth Star". The third block is the "New Garden Star".

Each one of her quilts was unique so I think each one deserves its own post. This quilt used some organic cottons from Birch Fabrics. I love the colour combination, a lovely gender neutral palette. Tuesday, 28 July 2015. This last one required the purchase and download of a new pantograph from Digitech Designs. The last part of yesterday afternoon was spent drawing it up. I love looking through that web site at all the different designs. It can be quite the time gobbler. This is the design we decided on. It's called Nutz and Boltz.
