quiltingbydawn

On pins and needles. Saturday, August 1, 2015. I'm back with some news! Well, once again I have been absent from my blog for too long! I just need to accept that the stage in life I find myself in is very time consuming, not only physically but emotionally. What spare time I do have I try to use for some creative outlet. Way back in March/April while visiting our daughters, I found a 'potting shed' at and antique fair called Round Top! I took off the door and masked around the top. It was doing its job!

quiltingbydawn: So Excited to Share!

http://quiltingbydawn.blogspot.com/2014/03/so-excited-to-share.html

On pins and needles. Saturday, March 22, 2014. So Excited to Share! I haven't had a finished quilt in quite awhile! Just my pages in my Art Journal challenge and they are a bit behind too! Life has been busy! So I'm so excited to share my finished quilt from the 2013 Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I really love how this quilt turned out. The 2013 Rainbow Scrap Challenge (see my side bar). Only included 11 colors so I added 5 additional colors so the quilt finished with 16 different colored rings. I'm linking u...

quiltingbydawn: January 2015

http://quiltingbydawn.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

On pins and needles. Friday, January 9, 2015. Goodbye 2014 , Hello 2015. For me, 2014 was a mere blur. There were some ups and some downs, but it all. Seemed to move rather quickly. When I look back over the year, I can say that I was able to complete more quilts than I realized.a wedding quilt, 3 baby quilts, 3 mini quilts, a table topper, a charity quilt and a few more. I also helped my DD1 complete her first quilt! This was the first Christmas that we were all together since 2010! It is straight lined...

quiltingbydawn: Sewing from Mom's Sewing/Craft Room

http://quiltingbydawn.blogspot.com/2013/06/sewing-from-moms-sewingcraft-room.html

On pins and needles. Friday, June 21, 2013. Sewing from Mom's Sewing/Craft Room. For quite awhile now, my mom, 83, has been having more difficulty working on sewing and craft projects. Her hands hurt and she doesn't see like she use to. And it is frustrating to her. She loves her crafts! One of my brothers has been after her to go through her things, sort them and start cleaning out. A bit overwhelming for my mom. And this soft book which I will bring to my niece that had a baby in May,. Not sure who wil...

One Old Goat: Something stinks more than the candidates for the upcoming election.

http://oneoldgoat.blogspot.com/2015/08/something-stinks-more-than-candidates.html

And her little farm. Monday, August 10, 2015. Something stinks more than the candidates for the upcoming election. Namely, my dog. He stinks more than the politicians that I see/hear from every news outlet imaginable. Hmmmmmm. I take that back. He doesn't smell. Why, oh why, does Casper need to dig up and roll in the nastiest, most vile substance known to mankind? He doesn't care for baths but he has had at least eight in the past two weeks! One Old Goat: The Case of the Dead Ducks.

http://oneoldgoat.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-case-of-dead-ducks.html

And her little farm. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. The Case of the Dead Ducks. So imagine my surprise, after spending a day in tears, frantically looking to purchase a pair of ducklings, when I came home and saw that we had two beautiful white ducks in the yard. Really, they were beautiful albeit the one was missing quite a few feathers, still had some blood stains on her back and was walking rather stiffly.Daisy and Donald weren't dead after all. So glad to hear that! May 28, 2015 at 11:12 AM. Busy As Can Be.

One Old Goat: Checking in.

http://oneoldgoat.blogspot.com/2013/12/checking-in.html

And her little farm. Sunday, December 22, 2013. I find that I really enjoy my living room being clean. I enjoy that the coffee table isn't heaped with books and magazines. I enjoy that I've moved embroidery and knitting paraphernalia off the top of the entertainment center and now I can see my candles and pictures not clumped together. So as the evenings before Christmas wind down, I'm completing my projects and not feeling rushed. I have completed them :). March 1, 2014 at 5:35 AM. I'm Back - Almost.

One Old Goat: August 2015

http://oneoldgoat.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

And her little farm. Monday, August 31, 2015. I have an infatuation with old things. Which works for me because I'm old. One of my daughters also likes old things - she aspires to be a nurse and specialize in geriatrics. I will be a good project for her. But I do love sewing machines - old ones, new ones - I love them all. I bought a Singer 66 Redeye treadle machine on Saturday. I love the feeling of knowing that I can sew even without electricity. How often does that happen? Did she have a husband?

One Old Goat: Autumn wind.

http://oneoldgoat.blogspot.com/2013/11/autumn-wind.html

And her little farm. Sunday, November 24, 2013. I've always liked autumn. Loved it even. It has always made me a bit melancholy. Melancholy isn't necessarily bad.and for someone who has battled depression most of her life, being able to feel anything,. A pensive post, as it were, and I very much relate. One Old Goat: Happy Birthday!

http://oneoldgoat.blogspot.com/2011/05/happy-birthday.html

And her little farm. Sunday, May 29, 2011. Jordan enjoying her Nookbook. Now I know those days will come. And I'm not looking forward to it. At all. Sure, I'm tired after working all day and then having to run kids here and there. But what will I do when there is no soccer practice or band concerts or 4H meetings? This year was my son's very last elementary school music concert and I could barely control the tears streaming down my face the entire time. Ikey - just being Ikey;. Jane's Fabrics and Quilts.
