Quilting by Judith

Quilting by Judith - Sharing my quilts and bits of my life. Sunday, July 19, 2015. This quilt began as a Mystery Swap of blocks in the nineties with my quilt guild. We met mornings and evenings and since one group did not have many sign ups, I did a swap in both groups. So, I had double the amount of blocks to make, which meant I had enough for two quilts. The first quilt I made can be seen here - Teal We Meet Again! Anyone recognize some of these golden oldies? I pieced the back with lots of purples I h...

Quilting by Judith: March 2015

http://quiltingbyjudith.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Quilting by Judith - Sharing my quilts and bits of my life. Saturday, March 7, 2015. Dear Jane and Black and White BOM. Last week I was able to get some more Dear Jane blocks completed. I needed to fill in the blanks on Row E, as I had chosen some of the simpler ones to sew first. Imagine that! So now Rows A - E are complete, plus some more for a total of 85 blocks! Remember, these are 4.5" finished! I just like to do close-ups for the details. A little set in seam here. And one more to complete the row!

Quilting by Judith: Raspberries!

http://quiltingbyjudith.blogspot.com/2015/07/raspberries.html

Quilting by Judith - Sharing my quilts and bits of my life. Wednesday, July 8, 2015. I began playing with some leftover fabrics from a quilt I made in 2011, Easy Peasy. Here's what I came up with - such fun! There were lots of 7.5" x 4" rectangles left from my previous cutting so I just kept making more that size, added some solid white and I had a quilt! I used almost every single piece that was left with the back - less than a fat quarter of fabric was left for the scrap bin! Love how this one came out!

Quilting by Judith: November 2014

Quilting by Judith - Sharing my quilts and bits of my life. Saturday, November 8, 2014. Miles of Triangles and More. I always enjoy seeing these beautiful trees in the fall. There are few leaves left now but the colors were just gorgeous! I've sewn a couple more Farmer's Wife Quilt Blocks - the fabrics are what makes these little blocks. One more block in my Primitive Garden! I just love this picture! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Oxford, Georgia, United States. View my complete profile. A Trip to the Zoo.

Quilting by Judith: Happily Quilting in the New Year!

http://quiltingbyjudith.blogspot.com/2014/01/happily-quilting-in-new-year.html

Quilting by Judith - Sharing my quilts and bits of my life. Friday, January 10, 2014. Happily Quilting in the New Year! This little baby quilt is for a great nephew to be born any day. Fortunately, I got it in the mail this week before his arrival. That one was down to the wire. All I was told was that it was a nautical theme so I chose sailboats, polka dots, sea creatures and found a fun border at Intown Quilters. Happy New Year and hope you are finding time to stitch a bit also! You are so talented.

Quilting by Judith: May 2015

http://quiltingbyjudith.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Quilting by Judith - Sharing my quilts and bits of my life. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Dear Jane Blocks and Camouflage Quilt. I did manage to do a set in seam on this one! Maybe there is hope for my sewing skills - lol! Lots of appliqué to keep from piecing the curves. More applique . . . And even more. Whoops, I see a tiny bit of red bleeding. May have to redo this block or at least try rinsing it again. This quilt was made for a special young man. It was washed and to UPS by Monday afternoon. I used the st...

Glady's Gab on Quilts and Quotes. Friday, February 20, 2015. It's in the Bag and and on the Wall. The weather in Ohio continues to be colder than average, this morning 10 below zero in Kent, but I heard 20 below zero and more in other outlying areas. Big sigh! Can't wait for spring! Meanwhile . . . The pattern is basic and you can use any fabric that you have on hand. Here is a finished bag:. We met lots of wonderful new quilting friends and saw some amazing exhibits. I want to start with the Hostetler's Hudson Auto Museum. Because of their unique quilt show of Hudson Autos combined with quilts. It was just "awesome.". I'll let the pictures do the talking. Enjoy! This was one of my favorites! I recentl...

http://gladysgab.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Glady's Gab on Quilts and Quotes. Sunday, January 25, 2015. First Quilt of the New Year. I'm honestly a very slow quilter and every time I complete a quilt, I'm a little amazed. Now, this January I have one quilt totally finished. Of course, I started it last winter, but I'm not going to mention that. I. It's a fun, easy and quick (for some people) quilt. I have been in the basement pressing and sorting material for the New Year. It's a great way to stay warm on a cold winters day - hot iron in hand.

Glady's Gab on Quilts and Quotes. Thursday, July 2, 2015. Quilt Gardens and Shipshewana Quilt Show. In my last post, I featured the quilts from the Hostetler Hudson Auto Museum in the Shipshewana Town Center. In the other half of the building was a quilt show; Barbie and I enjoyed seeing the quilts and visiting the vendors, of course! This picture was taken in front of a quilt mural that we found on our shop hop. Isn't it a coincidence that we happen to match the colors? A state of the art bus parked nex...

Glady's Gab on Quilts and Quotes: Streetsboro Quilt Show

http://gladysgab.blogspot.com/2013/10/streetsboro-quilt-show.html

Glady's Gab on Quilts and Quotes. Monday, October 7, 2013. What a fun weekend! This is my first year, or should I say month, as a member of the Streetsboro Quilt Guild. Being in a guild is new to me, so I am learning as I go. First of all, I learned that it is called a "guild" instead of a club because the members are all craftsmen, or craftswomen. We are all quilters. Quilt Show Pictures: Enjoy! It is impossible to show all of the quilts; there were close to 200. Here are some that caught my eye. I like...
