And some close ups showing the stitches and the sheep (including a black sheep! Sunday, 2 August 2015. You can see what other people have been sewing today at Kathy's Blog. Thursday, 30 July 2015. http://www.quiltingbythesea-sarah.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 31 December 2014. Sue Spargo butterflly sampler. But I'm looking forward to getting onto the embroidery part and learning some new stitches! Before that I have to embellish the butterflies with more fabric and felt! Thursday, 25 December 2014. And I can start to play with my lovely Christmas presents! There were so many crafty things this year. This lovely blanket was crochet by my daughter. I knew she had been learning but I'm so impressed with how well made it is, and its huge! Here are some...

Quilting by the sea: March 2015

http://www.quiltingbythesea-sarah.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, 29 March 2015. One of the ladies in our textile group comes from Norway (the home of Hardanger) and she bought in some beautiful work that her Grandmother had made - table runners, bed linen and drying clothes. I really should have photographed it to show here. You can see some of Kate's work on her blog HERE. I'm also linking up to Kathy's quilts. So you can see what other people are sewing today! But what ever it is you are doing, I hope you have a wonderful day! Friday, 27 March 2015. Last wee...

Quilting by the sea: Crochet blanket

http://www.quiltingbythesea-sarah.blogspot.com/2015/07/crochet-blanket.html

Thursday, 30 July 2015. Another finish (boy I am on fire! Here is my first attempt at crocheting and I am pretty pleased with the result. OK if you look really closely it doesn't have straight sides in fact it is shaped like a V! When Faye visited at Easter I realised I was holding the crochet hook wrong and when Faye corrected my rather awkward position, the crochet grew quicker, I didn't get hand ache any more but the down side was my tension changed! 30 July 2015 at 13:09. 31 July 2015 at 03:12. Don't...

Fiber Rhapsody: Steampunk Bunny

http://lisabquilter.blogspot.com/2014/03/steampunk-bunny.html

A song composed of quilts, travel, family and friends. Monday, March 10, 2014. Here is a little Steampunk bunny that I fell in love with at the Kalamazoo Show. I'm sorry I didn't note the quilter but I really appreciate her work. The whole piece was tiny,. Maybe 8 x 8" or 10 x 10". When I think of Steampunk, the Robert Downey Sherlock Holmes comes to mind. My other thought is Jack the Ripper's East End of London. I haven't watched Dr Who but I think that fits this category also. This quilt is darling!

A song composed of quilts, travel, family and friends. Monday, November 19, 2012. Past, Present and Future. Past - Here's a quilt top 5 years in the making (60" x 60"). I finally finished it at Cindy's Up-North Quilt Retreat. Baptist Fans keep calling out to me for the quilting. I don't think I want to hand quilt it though. Not sure how I would go about it on the machine. Future - not very far away now-unless you're 6 years old - then it's forever! Love the quilt top. Baptist fans would be lovely. The Co...

A song composed of quilts, travel, family and friends. Sunday, May 15, 2011. Little Brown Church in the Vale - not quite. Here's the church that is going into the tree quilt. I especially like the way the stained glass windows turned out. This is one of the filler blocks. There are three of these. There are also some four-patches and "fence" blocks yet to come. A song composed of quilts, travel, family and friends. Thursday, August 9, 2012. Give it Another Go. I haven't done much quilting lately. My quilt room is probably the hottest room in my house. I have central air conditioning but it never seems to really cool off the upstairs. Someday I'll need to invest in better insulation. Here is what happens when you try to sew "just one more seam" when it's late at night and you're really too tired. Next night. OK, that's the way it's supposed to go. I express my c...
