Quilting Forever

Zaterdag 14 september 2013. Hi, remember me? Wow, it's been a long time since I last blogged. so much has happened, there's no way to tell you about everything. And I'm sure you wouldn't want to read about it all, either - LOL! I'll just give you some of the highlights: in April of 2011 I had gastric bypass surgery. Everything went smoothly and I lost over 55 kilograms (or 121 lbs). Life sure feels a lot lighter these days ;-). For a while, with the new job, the move and DIY-projects, I hardly had time o...

Quilting Forever: mei 2010

http://quiltingforever.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Maandag 10 mei 2010. Not a dolly quilt. But I had a quick start and finish this past week anyway! Bennie is a very sweet cat, but he leaves his strawberry blonde hairs all over the place. And because he seems to prefer my very dark purple foot stool to most other lounging spots, that's where most of the shed hair seemed to accumulate: exactly where it shows the most. My sister's cat Tejo was white and loved taking naps on her black clothes. It must be a cat thing. Maandag 3 mei 2010. Zaterdag 1 mei 2010.

Quilting Forever: Workshop fun

http://quiltingforever.blogspot.com/2011/01/workshop-fun.html

Dinsdag 25 januari 2011. Today was a treat. Guess who was in Amsterdam to give a workshop at Birdblocks quiltshop. Yes, it's Sarah Fielke. She's in the Netherlands to promote her Dolly Quilts project and today she was here in Amsterdam. Sarah must have had a very busy week, but she didn't show it. She's a very sweet lady. And she was a guest blogger on the Birdblocks blog. For taking and sending me the above picture! Leuk dat je zon fijne dag had! 25 januari 2011 13:21. 27 januari 2011 03:05. Mijn volled...

Quilting Forever: juni 2010

http://quiltingforever.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Zondag 13 juni 2010. Back at last - School's out! Did you think I had gotten bored with this blog? It's been almost five weeks since my last entry, so I can't blame you if you did. However, there's an entirely different reason for my absence and I'll admit up front that I could have told you about it much earlier. Last week I had a final assessment at college, the last requirement for me to fulfill before I could graduate. In the weeks prior to the assessment, I found that blogging (OK, blogging and.

Quilting Forever: december 2010

http://quiltingforever.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Zondag 19 december 2010. I've been handed a baton. Or in Dutch: een stokje. I get to share 10 thoughts with you on my blog and then pass the baton to three other bloggers. Yvonne. Has whacked me over the head with the baton, exhorting me to blog more often. OK Yvonne, I'll do as you say - this time! Unfortunately, there was no sun when I took the picture, while it was very sunny a little later when I was at the indoor shopping center. Oh well! 4 Cats. I just love them! 5 I enjoy doing cryptic cross word ...

Quilting For England

Gertie quilts for England! Or tries to, in between looking after small children and avoiding housework. I enjoy all needlework but especially patchwork, hand appliqué, making dresses for my girls, and crochet. Thanks to the encouragement of fellow bloggers and quilters I have now tried FMQ and machine applique instead of procrastinating. In my spare time (! I also love to read. Tuesday, 5 May 2015. OK so it's been a year and a bit . I hereby charge myself with wilful neglect of a blog. I was considering ...

Quilting for Enjoyment

May 2014 handmade Christmas Challenge. I signed up at the first of the year to participate in SewCalGal's. Well it is May, bad me. These are the first items I have made for Christmas. I made them from some mini charm pack of Kansas Troubles along with some fabric from my stash. They have insulbrite bat inside to help keep your fingers cool. They have minimal in the ditch machine quilting. They were a fun quick project. Http:/ sewcalgal.blogspot.com/p/the-christmas-challenge-consist-of.html. Next take you...

QUILTING AT THE COTTAGE

QUILTING AT THE COTTAGE. A little blog about quilting and other things at the cottage. Thursday, April 10, 2014. THE DAYS DWINDLE DOWN. A PRECIOUS FEW. When we left the cottage, we brought my sewing machine, table and a suitcase full of general quilting supplies. I forgot my free motion foot. Now, that limited me to just doing straight walking foot quilting which is not what I like to do. I did make two baby quilts for two baby boys born to staff here at our little Villas resort. Everyone loves homemade ...
