Quilting, Piece by Piece. Musings on fabric and thread. Asymp; Leave a comment. Les Fille Des Mares. I have to apologize for the quality of these pictures. I don’t know what I did wrong (I suspect I had changed the camera settings and forgot to change them back.) Anyway, I’ve been promising them for weeks, so here they are:. In case I missed showing off the completed DayStars. Here it is. I didn’t do the same Baptist Fan pattern I did on Catherine Wheels. But “bubbles.” It’s cute! And, finally…. You are ...

Quilting, Piece by Piece. Musings on fabric and thread. Asymp; 3 Comments. Drop and Give Me 20. Making out with BoB. Probably the oldest of my surviving quilts. Made in the 80s. I gave my “speech” at my Guild on Monday. Actually, I decided to hold it as more of a Show & Tell than have a theme, etc. It was less nerve wracking that way. I had set the quilts up in sort of a timeline from oldest to newest, but basically just talked about what was going on and what I learned from making each quilt. Half the D...

Quilting, Piece by Piece. Musings on fabric and thread. Three Questions on Quilting. Asymp; 3 Comments. Last week I went to a quilt show: MQX. It stand for Machine Quilters Exposition, which, obviously, means that it’s focused on machine quilting. Now, this isn’t a local Guild show, or even a small regional one. This show features quilts from people all over the U.S. and other countries (I think I saw ones from Germany and New Zealand.). Then I try to apply what I’ve figured out to my own projects. This ...

Quilting, Piece by Piece. Musings on fabric and thread. Quilt Labels: Do As I Say (And Not As I Do…). Asymp; 3 Comments. A Tribute to Mary Ellen Hopkins. I have to confess that while I am a “quilt namer,” I am not a “quilt labeler.” The only time I put labels on my quilts is when they are going out of my home (most likely to a quilt show.). Maybe it’s a rebellious streak, though. After years of people telling me “but you HAVE to label your quilts,” I just don’t. So there. The big problem with using image...

Quilting, Piece by Piece. Musings on fabric and thread. A Few Hints For Setting Triangles. Asymp; 2 Comments. A Tribute to Mary Ellen Hopkins. V is for Victory. Still snow out on the porch, so this is as much fit as I could photograph. Wow How did that happen? I was going to post again “in a few days” and almost 2 weeks flew by? I’m still coughing, but more in a general “let’s get this illness over with” kind of way. I feel fine, though, and I doubt I’m contagious. There are plenty of places to learn how...

https://cirkelinerollgardine.wordpress.com/2014/02/26/ufo-sightings-but-no-pictures-sorry
Sew, hug and grow. UFO sightings… but no pictures. Sorry! February 26, 2014. Today I eventually finished two of the many UFOs hiding in my boxes and cupboards. Yeah! My son’s school is going to celebrate carnival next week, so I was looking for some fabrics for a pirate costume. While digging through my stashs I found a tee that I had begun to sew for my son two (? I also did cut more of the fabrics for my daughter’s blanket and will continue working on it when I have finished the costume for my son.

Stories, sewing, creating, teaching. Inky Jams and Paper Thin. February 11, 2014. Bubble Jet Set 2000. Okay, now I’m beginning to wonder if the printer is out of whack. So I print the copy on plain paper and everything is fine. I tried it again and the fabric/wax paper combination jams again. To buy Bubble Jet Set 2000 and Synthrapol. So it’s back to YouTube.
