Quilting and Cardmaking

Friday, August 7, 2015. I had to make a tough decision this month - which of three important projects did I want to focus on? I have a scrappy Churn Dash quilt cut and ready to assemble, as well as Bonnie Hunter's Scrappy Mountain Majesties. I also have a wedding quilt to get working on, but that's a little bit down the road yet, and I don't actually have all of the fabrics for it yet (which will hopefully be remedied this afternoon! The most colourful "blankets" in the pile! Thursday, July 30, 2015.

Quilting and Cardmaking: December 2014

http://quiltingwithjannette.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Well, the end of this crazy, insane year has finally come - and, as usual, I'm not ready for that to happen just yet. (Could I get a 2-week extension please? I should have a few finished projects to share with you - after all, I've had all month to work on them! What have I been doing with all that 'spare time' that I'm supposed to be enjoying? It's the "Scrappy Braid" strips - 3 sections each month for 11 months. I chose a greeny-taupe Kona cotton solid (Limestone? My alway...

Quilting and Cardmaking: My goal for July

http://quiltingwithjannette.blogspot.com/2015/07/my-goal-for-july.html

Tuesday, July 7, 2015. My goal for July. I've had a tough time deciding what to choose for July's "A Lovely Year of Finishes" project. I had a bunch of charm squares that needed to be assembled into a top - great! It would be a relatively easy finish - and it was! I'm off to link up to Melissa's. July 18, 2015 at 2:08 PM. So fun to come and see what youve been making. I love seeing the progress you make. It inspires me to make! I check often but dont often leave my hello. Keep up the work!

Quilting and Cardmaking: June's project is calling me!

http://quiltingwithjannette.blogspot.com/2015/06/junes-project-is-calling-me.html

Sunday, June 7, 2015. June's project is calling me! I missed May's ALYoF "completed project" link-up - the project got finished, but not in time. So, we'll try again! I've been putting sections together, but now I'm debating how to put it together. I've taken pics of 3 different options - so I'll take any and all the advice I can get! And make the solid fabric narrower, but if it makes the block work, it will be worth it! Now that I see all of these options here, I think that I know what I'm going to do,...

Quilting and Cardmaking: January 2015

http://quiltingwithjannette.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, January 6, 2015. A Lovely Year of Finishes - 2015 version! My life is incredibly busy right now - and it seems that every time I turn around, another task gets added to my already overflowing to-do list. I don't know if this is a good time to commit to a January ALYoF project, because I have no idea if I'm even going to have time to pick up this project - but then again, maybe it's the inspiration that I need! These are some of the strip sets, and the first blocks that I made:. It was SO much fu...

Welcome to MY world! Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Antelope Canyon, Page AZ. We started the day with another quick hike and opted to visit Horseshoe Bend again, this time in daylight. To get this photo I had to hold the camera over the edge. I'm not very fond of the edge! My beloved is holding my hand. He is the anchor allowing me to move close enough to the edge to see this spectacular sight, and he will not let me fall. Do you have someone in your life like that? Who anchors you and holds you up? Page is No...

Splashes of Joyce: Owl be missing you!!

http://splashesofjoyce.blogspot.com/2012/03/owl-be-missing-you.html

Owl be missing you! This owl punch is so much fun! I've been making a box of cards for a friend and included these two owl cards along with some of the cards from my last few posts. I know she loves fun cards so I hope she will like these! I like the 'tree bark' look this embossing folder adds to this first card. It has lots of possibilites on other nature cards and masculine cards as well. A circle is punched on the front of the card to reveal the owls hidden inside, as show in the second photo.

Splashes of Joyce: Can your patterns do this?

http://splashesofjoyce.blogspot.com/2014/01/can-your-patterns-do-this.html

Can your patterns do this? While blog surfing this morning (which I haven't done in ages) I came across this post and just HAD to share it with those who are left following my blog. Hope it brings a laugh to your day as it did mine! Imagine if all the patterns as Fabricland did this? Brings visions of a Hogwarts type of fabric store to mind! Of course if you watch it long enough it starts to drive you crazy! So on to the next blog to see what other random things people are posting! Thanks for the funny!

Splashes of Joyce: Sunshine Girl!

http://splashesofjoyce.blogspot.com/2012/02/sunshine-girl.html

On this cold, blustery, wintery morning, I thought we could all use some warming up with this card! Oh to be somewhere warm, sitting on the beach, soaking up the sun! This beach babe is a stamp from Kraftin Kimmie, coloured with tombow markers; paper, ribbon, and flowers from my stash. It is already in the mail to my daughter, who is off to Florida for her upcoming reading break, with wishes for a wonderfully, relaxing time with her friends! Am I jealous.well, just a little! This crochet pattern does not live up to its name.it takes much longer than a minute to do a mile! Almost done another afghan to send along to 'Word and Deed'. I'm enjoying the relaxation of sitting and crocheting while watching tv or visiting with my Mom and Dad. My Mom sits and crochets as well.now if only we could get my Dad started? Here is baby new Viola on her new blanket. Colors chosen by the mother. The binding was sewn on by machine by the baby’s grandmother as it was fitting for her to contribute something, and I think in the future I will insist on hand stitching. This is the end result. I embroidered one side with a chicken scratch pattern making sure that none of the stitches went all the way though, and then I quilted the backing with a simple shell pattern.
