Quiltin' Jenny: Houseworks Holiday Plan - Week 7
http://quiltinjenny.blogspot.com/2014/10/houseworks-holiday-plan-week-7.html
TBT - Throwback Thursday. Sunday, October 12, 2014. Houseworks Holiday Plan - Week 7. How did you do last week. After the quilt show closed Sunday night, I spent the rest of the week catching up and didn't make much progress with my extra stuff, but now I'm ready to get back to it. My master bath is due for a deep cleaning. Once again, our room is the one that gets put off until last. It will be nice to have drawers and cabinets clean and organized. What is nagging you to still be done? Div align="center...
Quiltin' Jenny: November 2014

TBT - Throwback Thursday. Sunday, November 2, 2014. Houseworks Holiday Plan - Week 10 - Cooking Spaces Week. I've completely abandoned my schedule for the last couple of weeks. It's been busy at work and busy at home - which adds up to a house desperately in need of a deep cleaning, dogs who need grooming, bills that need paying, and a sewing machine with a layer of dust. When we were supposed to be cleaning the master bedroom, which is still not pretty). To send the invitation to my MiL's. Div align="ce...

TBT - Throwback Thursday. Thursday, July 31, 2014. TBT - Throwback Thursday - The Ugly Quilt. It's Throwback Thursday here at Quiltin' Jenny, and I hope you'll link up and share your own creative adventures from your pre-blogging days. Today's quilt is probably the ugliest one I've ever made. Ever. It was the guild challenge from 2002, I think, which was the year I first joined the quilt guild. They had an ugly fabric challenge going on, and we had to use the green and the brown fabrics. And, yes, it's t...
Quiltin' Jenny: Goodbye, Div
http://quiltinjenny.blogspot.com/2008/08/goodbye-div.html
TBT - Throwback Thursday. Sunday, August 10, 2008. I'm sad to say that our sweet beagle boy, Divot, has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. BeaglesBay King Arthur's Wizard, aka "Divot" was born April 16, 1999. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer this past April, a less common but unforgiving cancer in dogs. Wednesday night he took a turn for the worse, and we realized it was time. He died Thursday morning in my arms with a belly full of cookies. Run to the Rainbow Bridge, Div. We miss you already. TBT - Throwback Thursday. Monday, April 28, 2014. Menu Plan Monday - Let the Mayhem Begin! It's Menu Plan Monday. And we're kicking off that magical time of year I like to refer to as "Mayhem." Honestly, I think May might be worse than December! No graduation this year (next year we have TWO! But exams, concerts, Mother's Day, my dad's birthday and Deuce coming home for the month make it challenging to stay on top of everything. My user name on My Fitness Pal. Is QJ2013 if you want to be friends. A PSA U...

Do It Anyways: Oops, skipped a week
http://doitanyways.blogspot.com/2009/08/oops-skipped-week.html
Thoughts on being active and eating right even when it hurts or isn't easy. Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Oops, skipped a week. Sorry about that, neglected to post last week. And I had such success, losing two pounds! Perhaps I was so shocked, I couldn't update the blog? Um, no, I actually don't remember exactly why I didn't post last week. I went and did the BetterU stuff, but then just forgot I suppose. So if you're keeping track like I am, that is 8 pounds down altogether. That would be a very good thing!
September | 2009 | 12 Weeks to an Awesomer Me
https://pocketcathy.wordpress.com/2009/09
12 Weeks to an Awesomer Me. Archive for September, 2009. September 23, 2009. I made a delicious pie this week that I would qualify as healthy. Some friends of ours gave us no less than about 15 pears. What do you do with 15 pears? I peeled six pears and chopped them up, mixed them with raisins and chopped almonds, a pinch of cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg. Mix thoroughly, fill pie pan, and bake for about 30 minutes at 425 degrees. DELICIOUS. And full of healthy things! Update on my heart! Here’s t...

12 Weeks to an Awesomer Me. Laquo; MMMMM PIE! Cathy 2.0, now with less teeth! April 9, 2010. Either way, I’ve found/made some fantastic recipes. And after a two months on my mostly-vegetarian diet and having my gym pattern fall by the wayside (oops), I’m down a pants size. After another month, the new pants are starting to get a liiiittle loose. He even ate my vegetarian chili, which he had previously requested to try, but with a plaintive “…but can we add real meat to it? A dab of olive oil. And a big C...

12 Weeks to an Awesomer Me. September 1, 2009. The twelve weeks are over, and I can’t believe how beneficial this program has been to me. I wish all that craziness hadn’t happened towards the end of it, because that derailed me a bit (which I think is understandable, given the circumstances). And if it hadn’t been for the BetterU program, I may not have found out for awhile since many doctors don’t consider an EKG a standard part of a physical for people as young as me. 8221; and “this is great! 8221; wi...

Musings of a newbie sewer and quilter Mom. Monday, April 16, 2012. Table Runner Blog Hop. After my confusion on Monday, I was worried I would not be able to deliver on the goods today. Thank you so much for all those who reached out to me with messages of kind understanding and support. You know who you are! It meant very much to me. Thank you, Madame Samm for hosting this Blog Hop and for everything else you do for the quilting/sewing community. Jennifer ( that girl). Saturday, April 7, 2012.
Do It Anyways: June 2009

Thoughts on being active and eating right even when it hurts or isn't easy. Monday, June 29, 2009. Swirly Watermelon in Week 4. This is a really swirly watermelon that we ate last week. I thought it was pretty cool looking so I took this picture. Week 4 of BetterU. Has come and gone, so what are the results? Goals for the past week were:. Buy a new pedometer and use it. Yes, check, done! Walk the dog and garden and stretch and situps. Yes to all but the situps. Weights at least 2 times this week. I ended...

Quiltin' Kaboodle | Let's Create Together
Let's Create Together. El’s Kitchen #2. March 28, 2015. This is El’s Kitchen #2 (Carol’s quilt). The real challenge with this quilt was to be sure the quilting was different but with the same quality. A couple of the blocks just couldn’t be changed much at all but most of them were open for alternate quilting designs. Here are the blocks, see what you think. The center basket block was challenging, so instead of straight lines in the background I used little wiggly lines. I like how it turned out. So the...

The Quilting Librarian | Welcome to my world
Welcome to my world. Literacy in a Digital Age. Writing ‘Bout Reading. Gardening in Glen Allen. July 18, 2014. It all started quite innocently with a run to a local nursery that was clearing out begonias and geraniums for $1 each. We’ve spent several days fighting the grass that had taken over the planting beds, and I wanted to celebrate by planting something cheerful. From there I moved on to the sad-looking butterfly bush that doesn’t appear to have been cut back in years. Yes, I Am Still Quilting.
