El’s Kitchen #1 | Quiltin' Kaboodle

http://quiltinkaboodle.com/2015/03/07/els-kitchen-1

Let's Create Together. El’s Kitchen #1. March 7, 2015. It took almost two weeks but I finally finished this quilt for a customer! I enjoyed the challenge and creativity. The quilt is 94″ x 94″ so it was difficult to get a full picture of it. Isn’t it pretty? So the background behind the basket is double cross hatching while the border and the basket were quilted with a continuous curve in the white triangles. I quilted feathers around the outside of the basket border. Now to go load El’s Kitchen #2!

TBT - Throwback Thursday. Sunday, November 2, 2014. Houseworks Holiday Plan - Week 10 - Cooking Spaces Week. I've completely abandoned my schedule for the last couple of weeks. It's been busy at work and busy at home - which adds up to a house desperately in need of a deep cleaning, dogs who need grooming, bills that need paying, and a sewing machine with a layer of dust. When we were supposed to be cleaning the master bedroom, which is still not pretty). To send the invitation to my MiL's. Today's post ...

Quiltin' Kaboodle | Let's Create Together

Let's Create Together. El’s Kitchen #2. March 28, 2015. This is El’s Kitchen #2 (Carol’s quilt). The real challenge with this quilt was to be sure the quilting was different but with the same quality. A couple of the blocks just couldn’t be changed much at all but most of them were open for alternate quilting designs. Here are the blocks, see what you think. The center basket block was challenging, so instead of straight lines in the background I used little wiggly lines. I like how it turned out. So the...

The Quilting Librarian | Welcome to my world

Welcome to my world. Literacy in a Digital Age. Writing ‘Bout Reading. Gardening in Glen Allen. July 18, 2014. It all started quite innocently with a run to a local nursery that was clearing out begonias and geraniums for $1 each. We’ve spent several days fighting the grass that had taken over the planting beds, and I wanted to celebrate by planting something cheerful. From there I moved on to the sad-looking butterfly bush that doesn’t appear to have been cut back in years. Yes, I Am Still Quilting.

Quiltin' Library Lady

Sunday, August 9, 2015. A Very Humid Sunday And Then. The storms started up. The first one roared through quickly with just rain and wind. The most damage was a tree blown down into the street near a neighbor's house. The next one that came through about three hours later was the one that hurt. Heavy rain pouring down and lots of hail.some pretty big. We found some bigger ones later after it quit raining. The rainbow after the storm. Once it quit raining we walked out to look at the garden. Not pretty.
